Simba randomly crashes

I set up simba for my roommate and it tends to randomly crash on him. I even ended up zipping my simba folder and mailing it to him and it still crashes. Sometimes it crashes when he stops a script, sometimes it crashes when he opens up a menu. It doesn't seem like they are related at all.

What version is he using

Maybe his computer isn't capable of handling that amount of memory usage?

He's using .96 and he's got a decent computer. Quad core at 3.7 IIRC and 4 gb ram. Win7 64bit.

mine is also crashing. Not randomly though, its when im running MSI and i click anything in simba. I also have a high end computer which should handle 5-6 clients at same time easily

I reinstalled yesterday, worked fine for 3 hours but after that i got the same bug..

Do you ever get the 'Bitmap not loaded' or something like that error after clicking run on the MSI forum?

And b4light, is there any more information to provide?
Any error messages or anything, or does it just pretty much crash randomly for no reason :/, because that's really odd :[.
Any scripts/actions in particular which cause the crash?

Bitmap missing
Code 8
Resizing simba during script run
Pausing/Stopping script after running SMART, even if its done loading first.

There's probably some more, but all of these cause simba to instantly go non responding and requires it to be closed and reopened, reproducibility is 100% occurrence for me. I mainly use MSI when using simba.

Simba crashes quite often actually.

I have a 8GB RAM 64 bit win7 so my computer is not the problem.

Bitmap missing sounds like a form issue and since forms can only run on the main thread it will cause the program to enter crash mode.
E: I say this because Simba's code doesn't contain a line like ``Bitmap missing''.

Code 8 is a general out of memory error thrown by SMART/JVM creating threads. (afaik; at least it's a out of memory error. So it's not a simple flaw in Simba code)

Resizing is new to me and I can't reproduce it now.
Don't have issues with SMART, perhaps you can provide more details? Looking forward to the bug reports, I hope we can reproduce them.

Bug:

1. Run script.
2. SMART Popups.
3. Stop Script.
4. Close SMART.
5. Close Simba Using the Close X button.

That will result "Not Responding".

Yes. All the time.
Hmm, and this does not happen when not using SMART?
And it also doesn't happen if you close Simba before SMART?

It works for me, but perhaps that is because I am using WINE?

It happens with MSI powerchopper for him but not for me. It seems totally random and it's just the generic this program has stopped responding error. It works just fine for me though.

Exact same things happens to me. W7 64-bit. I am starting to think maybe Winblows just thinks it is going not responding and it actually is not freezing up because when I don't touch the Simba window and just leave SMART up, sometimes the Simba window will say (not responding) in the task bar while SMART will be working away and the script will still be running.

Hey, winblows allows me to play the crysis 2 demo i've been playing all day. But yeah, Medieval 2 Total War does the same thing. If I click during a loading screen windows says it's not responding and gives me the option to wait or close and I just hit wait and it loads and I carry on.

Are you all using MSI and it's form?

Yes. I am assuming that's where some of the problem is stemming from since I always get bitmap missing errors and such… I will try setting up without it tonight when I get off of work.

No. I have this same problem and I've not touched MSI ever, I don't even have the extensions. From what I've read plus a combination of what's happened to me, I can 'guesstimate' that it is 1 of 2 causes: 1 being clicking inside the simba script/window itself while it's running and using Smart, 2 is it's something to do with Win7 64-bit, which is what I have and from the sounds of it is what everyone else has who's getting the random crashes. I can say, though, I've not had this problem running Simba on a normal Runescape browsers with presents the options of Smart And/Or Reflection being the problem. I assure you, it has nothing to do with MSI.

Edit: I just had another thought, would any of the automatic updaters/checkers conflict with Simba while it's running a script? That might be another possibility.

Formless scripts work flawlessly for my roommate so wherever you're going with the form thing might be it.

I'm not sure how the "Bitmap doesn't exist" issue comes up. I've gotten it a few times too and I don't understand. I just restart and it works, but I'm not sure why a bitmap would be missing or not loaded.

Simba has also thrown random Access Violations for me. Usually right when I click Simba on the taskbar, it'll open, then the Access Violation window will come up. I've been running Simba through the command prompt to see exactly what happens, but I haven't been able to reproduce it yet.

Late answer. I don't use MSI, but still the error occurs ^.
