My Dungeneering Bot (in development)

Hi,

just thought i would kinda talk a bit about whats going on and see if any of you have ideas about it, sorry for the wall of text and poor explanation/wording.

I have currently got it so that i can get all the food from the starting area, i have yet to add picking up weapons and armour and any keys in starting area. currently i use color to find food and check the uptext, so i could just add the weapons and armour as well i suppose.

i have also made it so that it will check weapons and armour in your inventory and equip the best, currently is doesnt check skill level but i am planning on doing that.

as for the actual dungeon solving i think i have the basics done be it very crude.
currently i am using color to grab the layout of the room, seeing as we only have one room for the starting area any doors i find will be new and unexplored. so i take the door color put it into a tpa and simply choose one and walk to it.
next i check for the door's id and click it if i can, i also storing the tile at which the door is so that if we need a key to later continue i can simply walk it, i enter the door to then next room.
i know where the next area is and only search that section of the map by checking where i click on the minimap.
so i now am in the next room and i simply check for NPC's using color and click near them so we can kill them.
after all NPC's are dead i would check there loot for food and keys (currently not doing) then i do a door search again in the new area and repeat with walking to it, getting its tile location and going through.

the idea is that when i reach an area where i cannot go through the door i will simply re walk all the tiles when i have the key or go through different doors i missed the first time.

i am sure people have a better way of doing this but its just kinda how i thought of doing it.

Thoughts/Opinions?

will post my crappy code if you want :)

I would really suggest reflection for this massive project.

Ok a small update of what i am now doing.

i am currently working on the best equipment detector.

i have come to the conclusion that i will have an array of items for each slot and order them from bet to worst. it may seem very ineffective but its my best view of doing it.

i am thinking i will have to have quite a few arrays to store and look through everything :( but we will see

That is lame and fine…
Still, good luck with the script but if it were all color, it would be incredible.

If he makes a working dungeoneering bot even with 100% reflection it's still incredible.

well today i F**ked up the script so i have to try and back track all my changes.

i was messing around with the best equipment section and now it just keeps swapping to the worst set….. i suppose i could work backwards from worst to best will see.

also a note that this script WILL BE SRL MEMBERS ONLY.

will continue working on this later today, its time for some lunch now :)

marpis, that's very true.

@bob: I seriously wish you the best of luck dude. You should make a list of to-dos with Green for done, Yellow for in progress, and red for not started. I think(just an opinion as is everything I say for the most part) it would set you straight.

Just some things i can think of: Puzzle rooms, boss rooms, eating, running, etc.

I really suggest abstracting this a bit.. Create procedures for bosses and puzzles, etc..

This script will be rough on your own, I do suggest working together with people. If you set up a system of things to do then a repository and then have people collectively work on it, it would be a much better project. :)

Just make sure you bring people in who can adhere to certain standards of code (things like comments).

Just my $0.02

yes that's what i am think nava2, i wont have much time after this week as i will be back to work.

i also got a bit pissed off at the script and havent done anything since lunch….

what i will do is make a to do list later and will see who wants to do parts of it, i think it would be nice to have a members scripting team running on this.
