I was trying to macro runescape in my wine install; using firefox because somehow SMART bypasses all proxy settings. I get really annoyed by the ads ad the top however, and adblock doesn't block then all… So I installed greasemonkey + runescape ad removing script… Works flawless. Has anyone else tried this?

Adblock plus hasn't given me any problems with RS ads :s

Also, just get members and you'll never have to deal with ads… or the limited f2p game >.<

Thanks for the infos.. I've not seen runescape ads either. I'm with Bebe that I use Adblock Plus & Ad Blocker.

Try this it's a list of common Ad sites for adblock:
http://easylist.adblockplus.org/en/
just click
Add EasyList to Adblock Plus

I've never had problems with Adblock not blocking anything.

The problem with adblock/rs adds is that adblock may block them, but runescape still does some page loading / image trickery. I believe this sometimes resets the client window handle. Hence the greasemonkey to totally remove that issue.

http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/Downloads_and_Wallpapers

then click on windows client… and there u go.. no more ads if ur members…

if u wanna block ads just do it through the hosts file? I used adblock plus aswell for firefox but I dont use a browser for rs anymore.. id rather use the client.

ADB is good, grease monkey has other applications also, similar to "Art money" ;)

Actually, the ads probably take up a lot more RAM and CPU than adblock. Especially when it's one of those annoying flash ads.
