Asking for seniors means you will not get it.

End of story..

On topic, I like you attitude, the script is satisfactory as far as SRL is concerned. I do think you need to be more active on the forums and some TPA work would be nice.

Perhaps doing a TPA/Reflection hybrid attack style? In my experience, its proven to be MUCH better than one or the other.

E: Oh, and yes. Just keep in mind what I said.

Yeah I'll put that on my things-to-do for my script. Right now I'm busy getting it to tan the hides, then I'll implement deathwalk, and see what I can do with TPAs.

I'd like to see some more walking not involving Reflection.

Also, does your walking function add a certain random to the tiles? Because clicking on the exact same tiles every single time could be a little suspicious perhaps. Maybe add a random 1-3

I'm in the process of adding r_WebWalk instead of using manually placed tiles, so randomness should be better after I update.

EDIT: Updated Script (Thread) to include Deathwalk, Breaks, and better walking.

This is a no from me. You do not show TPA, Arrays, Failsafes, Color walking/object searching/anything, you don't free your DTMs..

Your logic is off too.
Result := r_WaitOption('ttack', 100);
Wait(1000+Random(500));
if not AreWeInteracting(Cow) then
MarkTime(KillCowTime);
GetLoot;
end;
Here. What exactly is it that you want to do? Kill the cow, or get the loot? Because that would click on the cow and select attack, and then imidiately go look for loot…

This script shows little to no knowledge of the SRL include..

E: Those who voted, write what you voted and why please.

I understand what you are saying, but while you were writing that I actually just released v0.15 of my script which has major changes since v0.13. No TPAs or Arrays, but I have fixed the logic when it attacks and searches for items. It also frees the DTMs.

No.

No TPAs, bad logic. Your antiban ALWAYS runs a different antiban procedure. Horrid standards. Not active in the community (3 years and 300 posts?).

Edit: To clarify, I mean the antiban is always called on (i.e. there's no random chance for it to not be called)

I say no, just because you're so inactive. You have just recently started being a bit more active again, but still. I'd like to first see that you are a real member of the SRL community, not just visit once a month.

For your script:
- You don't seem to wait until the cow is dead, which can be a problem for lvl3 players
- You don't seem to use any failsafes. What if something goes wrong along the way? Your script won't notice and it tries to proceed, which can lead to unexpected problems.
- In antiban you call random(40) yet your options go 40..70. I know that's just something you forgot, I'm just mentioning.

So stay active and try again in a month or two. :) The script is fine enough for Members.

Also by seniors did you mean the Yoda cup or the title?

I vote No.

Reasons already mentioned, but lack of failsafes is kinda a big deal.

i also dont like how some of your procedures just keep going even after they failed to do what they are suppose to. but thats due to your lack of failsafes.

I see your point that I'm not active enough, but like noidea said, I am active almost every day on the IRC. But then again IRC != Forums.
For seeing whether or not the cow is dead, I used AreWeInteracting(Cow) to check if we are, and if we aren't then I get loot and mark the time since we last killed a cow. My only failsafe pretty much is the deathwalk, and I see your guys' point that I need more. The antiban part was a mistake, I forgot to copy over the full function and just copied the 40..70 part. I've fixed that.

And for seniors I did mean the Yoda cup. :)

I never use IRC, and I have thought no-one uses #SRL :p Yes it is enough if you only post when it's necessary and are active on IRC, but with juniors with very low activity there's a chance they might just write one script, then leech from Members' section or just quit when they see there's nothing to leech.

I'mma vote yes, keep up your activity in the future too.

Maybe if there more people wanting to dev for reflection and realized its potential.

By "taking the easy way out" did you mean, using a sick include that makes scripting a lot more powerful and easier, then sure.

Brb, living in the dark ages, because anything else is "taking the easy way out".

Yes excuse my while I go and start a fire with sticks so I can cook my sausages, because an oven, and even a lighter are taking the easy way out.

Lighters don't work all the time, but when they do its effective.

Think of it as cooking your sausages on a bbq, but using a fire starter. Sure it helps but it is not necessary.

I think you are underestimating how much you cram into that word "helps".

It isn't necessary, but neither is using any functions from the SRL.

Voting no for reflection (not saying you did) is a bad excuse. If they can script well, i'm sure that they could easily as well pump out color scripts. They just take longer and are more difficult than reflection.

I want to write scripts for the community and it feels like I can do a better job with limited time by using reflection. No one should knock their ability for using it though.

So applying for SRL members has nothing to do with SRL functions? Well I'll be damned. Why didn't you tell me earlier? So I could apply with RSbot scripts?

Well, since we don't have reflection members, srl membership should need knowledge of both reflection and colour.

SRL Membership needs knowledge on the SRL include.

Reflection is great and works awesomely well when it's not broken, but those times it is broken, there should be a color backup failsafe that works good enough until reflection is back up. This way, the bot can still do it's job even though reflection is outdated/not installed.

Brb, living in the dark ages, because anything else is "taking the easy way out".

If I can make a yew cutter with reflection while drunk like fuck a drunken sailor, that clearly proves reflection doesn't need that many skills.

I agree.

I made a fighting script for you all to use:
{$DEFINE SMART}
{$i Reflection/Reflection.simba}
{$i SRL/SRL.scar}

const
Monster = 'Chicken';

var
NPCs : TNPCArray;
P : TPoint;
H, I : Integer;

begin
SetupSRL;
SetupReflection;
while LoggedIn do
begin
NPCs := GetNPCs(Monster);
H := High(NPCs);
for I := 0 to H do
if not NPCs[I].fighting then
begin
P := TileToMS(NPCs[I].Tile, 50);
Mouse(P.X, P.Y, 0, 0, True);
while not GetMe.Fighting do
Wait(100);
while GetMe.Fighting do
Wait(1000);
Break;
end;
end;
end.
I didn't make it in Simba, so I'm not sure it works, but seriously… That's all that's needed to create a reflection script… No skill at all

This thread is getting off topic fast.

But quite a number of reflection functions are based off of SRL functions, hence you would be familiar with them if you had just used the alternative if reflection wasn't present.

Tell me how making something easier to script is a bad thing. Really? These are just everyone's egos talking and being self-centered to why they script. If you shy away from reflection because you feel it is too easy, then youredoingitwrong.jpg

I thought the purpose was to create scripts, share them, and build a community. Not, stroke each others e-dongs with how complicated and great are our scripts are. Fact is, reflection is a lot more powerful and easier to use to do a lot of tasks, so why not take advantage of that in order to bring scripts to the community?

Instead of pushing out the same oak cutting scripts over and over, then I'd tell you to "use the easy way" and create a AIO farmer with world web walking. But i'm sure that's way too easy for some of you, so its beyond the community to make.

Everyone knows that Reflection > Color in most cases, but to make something as stable as possible, there should be failsafes, right? So use Color as a failsafe where reflection might fail.

I wasn't talking about you specifically, probably Runescape Pro, cyro..

Just anyone opposed to anything involving reflection, etc.

And I think SRL members is more of a community icon for being a scripter. Rather than someone who strictly codes in color. I you have adequate scripting abilities, love the community, and want to contribute, then why shouldn't you be in? What happens if we get into OpenGL? People who script that exclusively can't be in?

There's like 2 working scripts in the members section anyways, it's more of a sign that you're knowledgeable in scripting.

Else, make Reflection members and OpenGL members, and separate the community :p.

Hey smurg (and all other debaters above), I hope you know this thread is about voting on an SRL members application (which used to be about scripting ability) and that this isn't a debater about the pros and cons of reflection vs. colour?
Please try to stay a bit on topic.

Hm. Wait, this reminds me of something.

Phew!

Does that look easy to script, or what!

But it's sure as heck efficient, no?

So, with all of my pea-brain knowledge of the cheating scene, allow me to recount history:

We started with AutoRune - arguably the simplest, and most efficient, style of cheating. Then we progressed (regressed?) to SCAR, with all of its color-y goodness. Then we appended the SRL library, presumably to make things easier for the script-writer. Now, we shun the current most efficient method of cheating as being 'too easy'?

Runescape Pro

2011-02-24 02:45:33

The only reason why I "shun" it is because I don't script to do anything in RS. I simply script for the knowledge factor. Maybe it's just me…

Sorry for the "spam" nonetheless.
