Simba crashes when running the Grand Exchange yew cutter

Well when I run the GE yew cutter I get an error message saying Bitmap [22] wasn't found (or something) click ok to keep going or cancel to terminate, so I click OK, and Simba is not responding.

Smart is working and the script is working but Simba is just not doing anything. I then ran a different script and it worked.

Anything about code 8?

Just got the error message again

On a different script but one that also cuts yews

Someone needs to tell jagex to fix the yew trees so us botters will stop getting this error!

Wha..? That means a bitmap is being freed to soon. Does that come up when you click one of the "Next" buttons?

Also, you don't actually have to fill out that tab for Rimmington Yews or GE Yews. They will both cut just Yews by default anyway.

Yes, for the next button thats to the right of the "rimmington yews" drop down menu, I clicked that (I think) then I click run, and as the script started to run that came up

Sounds like you're just missing a bitmap for some reason.

Does the form close before you get that error?

The form stays up, I click run and I get that message (And the form is still open, see the picture I posted a couple of posts back).

No idea whats causing it. I don't think I am missing a bitmap I just updated it.

That's what I thought. And honestly, I have no idea. I just tried exactly how you said it happened and it worked fine. Does it work when you don't hit the Next button?

Haven't tried it like that (I think). I got the error message sometimes and other times it worked fine.

See: http://villavu.com/forum/showpost.php?p=780990&postcount=556

I'll see if I can replicate the error message

Yeah it worked fine this time after clicking Next

Setting up MSI took 3796 ms.
SRL Compiled in 187 msec
SMART Initialized.
Loaded: Server 152, Members: False, Signed: True, Super Detail: False.

EDIT: Tried it again but this time I clicked run instead of next and it just crashed, without the error message

EDIT 2: And this time it worked fine … This is really confusing me

Join the club.

I honestly don't have a clue, sorry. :o

E: And I replied to that other post. ;)

I get this error almost 80 percent of the time while trying to run MSI … Any solution?

Edit: Just tried 5 times to run the Karamaja noter, every time I got the error

Seeing as I can't reproduce the error, it's kind of hard to fix. Just don't use the form.

Alright

I didn't mean to sound rude, if that's how you saw it. I've just been really busy lately and the memory leak has kind of been pissing me off. It also bugs me when problems like this come up for only one person (not that it's your fault). I'll be gone for a week, but I will look in to it when I can. You may have to PM me to remind me.

I didn't take you as being rude - Also I think I have found a kind of solution, when I do click next and select the script I don't often get the bitmap error, but if I just click on the box then click the script and click run I get the error very frequently.

I can understand how bugs piss people off, especially when it is hard to find the cause and solution to them.

I just tried this twice, and the second time Simba crashed with a Runtime error. This may be due to not properly closing the second form when you click "Run" or the "X" on the main form. I'll check that out right now, but I won't be committing yet.

If you want, you can download my fork of MSI, which has quite a few updates (including SPS). Click here if you're interested. Oh, and if it works, I'll commit to my fork.

Has anyone been able to recreate or has anyone experienced this other than cycro?

E: Marking this as resolved since I haven't heard anything about this in a while. We're also working on a new form so the error will be gone eventually.

I guess this error is back again…

Just had that come up, so I tried to run it again, it came up again. Then I tried another 3 more times, no luck :(

Yeah MSI is actually working on a new form I believe anyways.
That is a really common error, we all (and you :p) know it's stupid and just goes away randomly after a few restarts or something, I believe the cause of it is still unknown.

Many people, including Cohen and myself, don't even use the form and just type out the playersetup ourselves, I think it's easier/less hassle int he end anyways. Hi cyc!

I'll try using the normal setup a bit later, hope it all goes good :)

When I used the form I got this error consistently. Tried everything to get it go away but it never did. I ended up manually setting up the player information and haven't got this error since.

I was using Rimmington iron miner.

Wizzup?

2011-05-18 05:17:31

It doesn't look like a Simba error though?

cycrosism

2011-05-18 06:15:24

The error only appears after I click "Run" on the MSI form, so whichever bitmap is producing could be removed and see if it solves it

Coh3n

We're doing our best to get the new form going, it's just taking longer than expected. If you're getting this error consistently, use the DeclarePlayers setup. I've never heard of any issues that way.

My apologies for the inconvenience.
