Ok, I've moved this thread from the MSI boards to here, and now I'll edit the first post with the findings.
This first post was edited after the 20th post in this thread was made.


My account (when using MSI) got stuck in the Reward Box for 5 hours, continually scrolling around and doing nothing.

At first I thought maybe an improper reward was declared, as in a reward that isn't an option in all boxes.
But, after checking MSI code, I found that it declares multiple rewards which exist in all boxes.
From Mainloop.simba in MSI:

Players[i].BoxRewards := ['mote', 'ostume', 'oins', 'unes', 'ems'];

Next I found that IF the user does not define a specific box reward for players, SRL picks XP for you:

  if (Length(Trim(srl_Implode(Players[CurrentPlayer].BoxRewards, ''))) = 0) then
    Players[CurrentPlayer].BoxRewards := ['XP'];        

BUT, as you can see in this picture provided by Cycrosism, XP is NOT always an option from every box:

So
1) SRL should add the "Save for a Costume" as a default option if XP is not found. (I believe this option does not put any items in your inventory?)

2) The question still remains, why the heck was the UseRewardBox looping for 5 hours scrolling up and down in a box?!

How did it mess up? Not detect it or not solve it right?

It missed up like this, I'm pissed.

That is SRL. Reflection uses SRL's box solver.

It's a pretty big deal having an endless loop with no failsafe like this, IMO this should be fixed immediately, at least a failsafe needs to be added.

I know for a fact that after completing some randoms there is no EXP lamp, for example the school random (mordaut or whatever its called) gives you a book instead of a lamp and if it cant find the lamp it pretty much just keeps repeating until it finds it (but there will never be a lamp) so it goes on forever.

Ahhh, I thought it already had a lamp. Which is why I was confused because I've never seen it have troubles picking a exp reward from the lamp.

Yeah you would expect that to be the problem, but this happened to me when lamp WAS an option. The box reward choice option is a Tstringarray(?) which allows for one of many options to be picked, sot he problem is not that the given option inst available, it's something else.

The rewards box is an AntiRandom, and AntiRandoms in any script are handled by SRL/Reflection (And I hear that even reflection antirandoms use the normal SRL box is handler), so I'm pretty sure it's a problem with SRL's box function.

hmm yes, i know SRL is at fault, im saying that its the buggiest in MSI, i run Harry's karjama fisher, and it will solve the box all the time. I run MSI and its bound to mess up 3/4's of the time.

For some reason MSI has always had its share of problems with the Anti-Randoms. I just can't land my finger on it.

This box random is known for problems, i reported this back in November, and it seems to have no change since. I think NCDS fixed it once and it worked GREAT on ShuttleU's Vine Squasher, but when i ran my MSI Army i always found it stuck on the Box random 3/4's of the time.

Yeah, box has never caused any problems for me, but then again I never have used MSI in months.

I don't see how the exact same antirandom functions and work fine in one script and mess up in another.
It's not a common problem in MSI either, tons of people use MSI for hours on end and very few/none get the problem. I ran MSI for 24+ hours and it solved a bunch of randoms/boxes just fine, it's just this one rare occurrence that messed up.

At the time when i used to bot my 94 man army maybe ~20 would have the box in there inventory.

i even had xp lamps in my inventory, or seen it trying to bank lamps.

But this was all back in november.

In the frog random when you get the box you only get these options

1) I don't think any default boxreward is defined in srl (blatantly), the solver does this

Well, the above problem still applies to other user's scripts, if they do not declare box rewards, they might get stuck with a problem, but I just found that MSI DOES declare rewards:

There are too many inconsistencies ub reports to accurately diagnose a problem. MSI choses coins though, which is where I'm confused..

Perhaps we should place some debugs into there (pics) to get accurate results of where it is messing up.

Yes, that would be good fix for certain scripts, and is great.
But we also need to find out why this happened to me with MSI, when lots of different box rewards were defined, and XP WAS an option too!

Question: Since the error happens at this part of the code, if I was to just add a Logout; in these locations would it be a proper temporary and safe fix tot he problem?

Are kind of conflicting messages…..?

Script was doing something along the lines of:
Opened box, scrolled down, clicked costume option, SEEMED TO quickly move over the confirm button, but then quickly click the box again? The box screen seemed to go away after a few seconds, I think this is because box was clicked again, and sometimes it would mine an ore, and then try the box again.

Ask for any more info.

I added my name to the reward box the other day. I'm not going to rewrite it as of yet. I'm just going to clean it up, get rid of anything that may be unnecessary. Let me know if you make any progress (I haven't actually started yet, waiting for some accounts). :)

Yeah it's not very common, but it does happen.
No idea what exactly causes it….

So get this. I just caught this happening in MSI, so I stopped it right away (after 17 hours by the way :p) and ran just a FindNormalRandoms and it solved perfectly. I have absolutely no idea what to do. I'm just going to rewrite it and go from there.

E: This should be fixed now. CloseWindow didn't work for the reward box screen, so that was part of the problem. And I made it drop the reward box if the function fails.

It solved the reward box 100% properly for me (then again, I am not using MSI). It's probably your .BoxRewards that's causing it - I use nothing and hence it always gives me exp, and has never failed.

This isn't a regular occurrence; it's actually very rare, but when it does happen, it's obviously not a good thing, but we could try just not setting box reward by default.

And I have the lampskill on woodcutting, and it has never failed for me :/

FINALLY found and fixed this! There was an "almost" infinite loop in FindBoxOption (it would only exit if the player wasn't logged in). I caught one of my player's doing this and when I stopped and restarted it kept happening, so I was able to properly debug and fix the issue.

No one should have this problem any longer. :)
