Just realized one of Jagex's macro detection possibilities.

So, i was training my range to 60, i train in stronghold of security alot. in the same spot, botting LOL. i never fail randoms however, BUT. i figured out one of there bot detection systems, i dont know how old it is, or if anyone's noticed, but when ur botting combat, they sometimes tend to drop ALOT of clue scrolls. jagex realizes, who in their right mind wouldn't pick up a clue scroll…? ohh, a botter. LOLOL. so, i was botting range, and as i was watching it (since i never leave my bot un monitored, i play xbox while i bot, haha i like multitasking… mm.) anyways, at first, i got 2 clues, within 5 kills of each other, possibly same kill, idk, but i look over, and im like ZOMFG clue scroll!!! (easy, but still) so then i right click it, and BAM there's two there. so i pick one up.. and im like awwww.. cus u cant pick up the second one. anyways, i go do that clue, and i swear jagex likes to mess with me.. :( i had to do some equip clue where i needed to equip a steel plateskirt. awww i have 1 def, so anyways, i drop that. i go back, and within 10 minutes, ANOTHER clue scroll! woot?! so then i go do that one, a couple steps in, jagex pulls another dick move. BAM gotta equip a steel med for this one.. YAY. so i drop that one, then i go back, within 30 mins, BAM another clue!! WOOT! so i go do this one, and it lets me do it this time in 2 steps (thank god i didnt have to equip some crap) and i get some black (g) legs. WOOT for 200k eh? so anyways, i believe that jagex uses clue scrolls to detect botters. because i literally got all of those within an hour of total combat training. just wanted to throw this out there, i know its a rather long post, but its just that little bit of knowledge that lets us know that jagex now uses clue scrolls as a bot detection system.. D*cks..

That's odd you got so many clue scrolls in such a short period of time, but when I used to play legit I would only pick up level 3 clue scrolls and normally just put it in my bank for the longest time until I get bored enough one day to go do it.

I don't think Jagex would throw out a bunch of clue scrolls to detect bots though, main reason is most bots are not members (as that would defeat their purpose to make money ($5 = 6mil black market or person training your account etc.) The second reason being people don't normally pick up clue scrolls or already have one.

If you're really concerned about this, leave one in your bank. I've been playing legit a lot and still haven't done the clue scroll I got a few weeks ago.

I agree with Icefire, I only pick up the hard or elite clues, as I'd imagine alot of players do, so I doubt Jagex would recognize ignoring dropped scrolls as a possible bot. My elite clue scroll has been sitting in my bank since the wilderness returned, as I'm reluctant to venture to the wilderness to complete it if the clue calls for it.

Easy scrolls are dropped very often. I used to fight Men in Seers Village and I would get them all the time.

I don't really think they would do that on purpose tbh, the only reason I don't usually do clue scrolls is because I have 1 def like you :p

wow, well i like doing my cluescrolls cuz there is a nice chance that there is some money to be made. d: especially on the items that can be dropped for all scrolls. (pages, etc.) but yes i see why you guys wouldnt think they would use it like this, but i find it unbelievable that i got 4 different clues in a matter of an hour >_> thats a bit bizarre.
