I've been fooling around with kinect and scar/simba. For some reason, both scar and simba can pick color from both depth and normal screen while the script is not running, but as soon as I run the script, it finds nothing on both screen even if the screen remains the same.

The viewer (libfreenect) is using open gl and its the only kinect viewer available for windows (AFAIK). Has any one tried to use scar or simba /scar with kinect before? If yes, did any one get it to work?


EDIT: You can get scar/simb to work with "RGB-D Capture" from this demo, all three window are not open gl based. Enjoy :P

So why would you want to use Simba for this? I don't get it.

I mean, why use Simba if you already have software that does all the actual analysing? How do you plan to use Simba? To do what?

This is only a demo file, I couldn't compile the last bit of the actual wrapper :( Also I suck at scripting in C++ :( Besides simba/scar is good for some discovery.
