Essence Miner

Apparently there seems to be a big demand for ess, or at least there will be at SRL.

3 runecrafters (air, earth, fire) have just been released, and Ice's abyss crafter might still work…

So I'd suggest MSI making an Essence Miner, which is a very profitable mining activity at any level :)

I believe the main hold up on making one was the Object handling which is now finished. We will also have to make MSI capable of having multiple relocation points instead of just one, but that's nothing hard and needs to be done for other instances as well.

I'm also going to suggest to Marpis to add the Essence Mine map to SPS. That will make it easier for the color side of an Essence miner.

We would just need someone to run in and out of the Essence mine a bunch of times, and get the areas the player starts at. Once we know that, we can figure out which Essence rock to walk to and mine.

Another problem though: we use one reflection path then invert it for the way back to the bank. For an Ess miner, the path there would have two obstacles: the door, and Aubury. For the way back, it would just be the portal. So, we wouldn't be able to mirror the paths/obstacles, like we do with the Guild Miner.

Function WalkToEssMine
Function GetOuttaMine

WalkToEssMine would basically deal with door & aubury. Up to that point you can just use the paths as normal ;)

It means custom functions for one script rather than it being handled like other scripts.

Restructuring TScriptRecord for such reasons… ;)

Go have a look at it:

I actually can't find the post right now :duh: anyway

//TScriptRecord
Processes:TPointerArray; //hadn't put it like this, cheers to zytex

//Essence Miner Record
//...
Processes := [
MSIWalkTo(ESSENCE_MINE_VRK, [DOOR_AUBURY, NPC_AUBURY], ESSENCE_MINE_CLOSEST),
MSIMine([ESSENCE]),
MSIWalkTo(BANK_VEM, [ESSENCE_PORTAL], BANK_VEM
];

Here's an example :) Or something I'm aiming for anyway :)

the only thing worrysome about having multiple, script exlcusive functions is that things start to get messy fast, even if you made another include directly for those functions. Not saying this isn't doable by any means, but I think looking into the planning and organization of it all should end up being more important than actually using/making the functions.

Absolutely. It would be a huge change and would need to be planned out accordingly.
