I just tried running MSI with 2 free players and a member's account, and I realized that MSI doesn't switch to/from free/mem servers when it needs to. I.E. If I start with the member, it won't let the free players play on user switch, and vice versa for free to members.

That's odd. AFAIK, SRL is supposed to handle this in LoginPlayer. Assuming your Players.Member is set to true, which I'm assuming you've done?
SMART would have to be reloaded I believe…

Yes, IIRC someone said that in another thread

Solution: Always load smart to members. The members client can run f2p and p2p, afaik.

Alright I'll give that a shot, thanks Tom.

I'm pretty sure I've run a members server after SMART was loaded in F2P..

I didn't record it, but it just worked. I logged out from a F2P server, logged in to a P2P server, tried to login to that server with a F2P account, got the "You are not a member" window, then switched to a F2P server, and it worked.
@IPwns: Do you have world switching set to true? I haven't checked, but LoginPlayer may not check whether or not you're in a F2P/P2P server. When you get the warning message, though, I think it should go back and choose an appropriate server (currently, I don't think it does). Would probably be a good idea to suggest it in the Public SVN if you get the chance. ;)
E: I've tested, and it works if you have world switching set to true.
