Anyone against switching to git? I was looking at the SRL-5 repository on git-hub, and honestly, it's awesome. :p Using git will also avoid bad commits (like my recent one). We can fork it or whatever and have people test it before merging with the master branch.
We'll all have to learn a little about git, but I honestly don't think it's that difficult. AFAIK there's a TortoiseGIT program and if it's anything like TortoiseSVN, it'll be simple. Plus, Wizzup? said he just needs to change something in his server for the updater to work, so the user won't have to do anything.
Thoughts?
P.S. SRL and Reflection are already on git, why not MSI?
Wizzup?

Perhaps see how it works out for reflection? :)
Also, yeah. The updater won't be hard to change.

Sounds good. I'd like to get a real stable version of MSI before making a change like this. For some reason, some of the updates I've made recently really screwed some things up. :o
Let's hope I learn from my mistakes.

The benefit of git is you can have your own personal reps. Commit changes to it as development, then push them to the upstream after you know they all work. Its much nicer than svn for that.

That's the main reason I'd like to switch. We can avoid the hybrid fiasco in the future.
Gu3st...

I'd very much like this :)
Yeah it's fine with me, I'm getting pretty used to the SRL-5 one.

I have no understanding of git, and wouldn't like my right click menu to be flooded with both SVN and git versions of tortoise.
Not saying I don't want it, I'd just have to do some learning.

You can customize what shows for TortoiseSVN, so I'm assuming it's the same for git.
