You want mage as high as you can get it without raising combat because of Magic Defense

DClaw stakers do NOT work.
Remember, claws are two handed, thus the other person could pull out a dfs.
60 attack stakers are good in general though. 99 str + 99 hp is win.

Because with X Magic level, you can also raise your Ranged to X without affecting your combat level. If you're going to get 40+ Magic, you might as well match it in Ranged to use the DHides, since there's no penalty.
Also, he could be wanting to do a Bow/D2H staker. I'm not a member nor have I been for years, but in F2P Range/2H'ers are some of (if not the) the best builds.
