Whenever I click Disable Smart, "You haven't received any messages to which you can reply." will pop up in the RuneScape text box. Does anyone know why this happens?

A similar thing happens if your in the world select lobby and click disable SMART, it will log you in. I think that when you click disable it sends a tab key press to the client, though I really don't understand why

From: cycrosismImo it's not detectable that a player accidentally hits the tab key, but when the mouse moves at the same time, then perhaps….
Happens to me as well, which is why I don't use smart that often anymore, lots of detectable things (like this for example) and i've also seem similar problems on smart that I have also seen 2 years ago, so looks like nothing has been fixed, and a few days ago I reported a smart disable/enable error and I only got told of solutions of how I could fix it, but nothing was done as to fixing the actual client

Smart never sends conflicting events, the tab thing due to SMART emulating an alt+tab window switch when it needs to get focus. Was the safest and most efficient way at the time.

People don't seem to understand the mechanics of SMART, regardless of it being open source, which is surprising to me.

It just so happens that the client does something when you press the tab key now, its no more safe or unsafe than it ever was. It stands that this is the best way to maintain the proper focus state of the window, which is vastly more important than whether or not you can type or it sending a tab key every now and again.
People don't seem to understand the mechanics of SMART, regardless of it being open source, which is surprising to me. Sure, it has small problems with typing, but the quality of the things it does well (which, conveniently, are the things it was designed to do) far surpass any negatives that are difficult to avoid. As free people, you're welcome to build a better one, lol.

And we would find this source where? I've been dying to see the source to smart for years to read it and understand how it works.
