Free trade... oh golly!

I love free trade, wealth gathering in this game is just one of those things that you learn over years of playing… most of us probably have played for more than a few years and have gathered millions if not billions of coins, but imagine having even 1/10th of that sum on your first few weeks of playing, or even your first year.
Whenever I see a newb in need of assistance (cash wise, since I generally only log on for an hours worth of time in a whole week,) I help him out, because I know that those coins will bring 1,000x more happiness to them than they will to me, and that's why we play this game… no? To spend our time and be entertained/happy.
I guess there isn't much discussion in this topic, so I ask you… how often do you actually stand out of the crowd and help a person, instead of fitting into the crowd and thinking "there's hundreds of people here… someone will help him out!"
Sometimes, when I'm in a generous mood, I'll give away a little bit to a new player, but most of the time I'll show him my wealth and tell him to earn it like I did. Haaaaaarsh.

That made me lol
I often times give away items/coins to those who need it because I know that I auto'd most of my assets anyway and if a player can stand to play legit and need some help then why not provide it.

Is it possible to transfer money using the GE?
Player1: Sets up a sale for Cooked Chicken at say, 20m. There wont be any other user in RuneScape that's trying to buy a Cooked Chicken for 20m.
Player2: Buys the Cooked Chicken for 20m?

GE automatically chooses the cheapest for you I think. So you would buy the chickens, lose the money and the other part would got the chicken too.

I don' t think giving players like that cash really helps them, it just prompts them to beg some more. Most of the time when I would give a stranger a few K's to help them get started, we trade, they get the money, and they continue to spam "free money pl0x". It' s different if you know the person your helping though.

If you give a noob a million… he'll probably ask for another million.
If you give a "Noob" a million gold, they may give you two million in the future. It's an investment, if you befriend the "Noob."
You could also teach the "Noob" how to make gold.

Looks the price of pretty much everything is crashing, can't sell anything for 'market value' on the GE. This is probably a good thing.
Only things I see going up are rares.

Looking at the prices is making me so depressed that I don't even want to bot anymore(because its not very profitable) :(
Simply wait until the market stabilizes. This crash was to be expected. People are taking advantage of the new update as soon as possible.

Raw Chickens went up pretty high. I got 20% profit from it :) Made 1m from buying them the day before the update and selling on the day of the update

I remember when I was a newb without money(and skills) and I only wondered about 100k(and skills above 10).
I googled "runescape autoing", came here, problem solved.
I just can't imagine how else you could "play" this game so I really don't feel bad about not giving anything to newbs. It's their problem they can't play this game like they should(bot). I sometimes show them the botted money, that's all :D. I am so evil, muha.

So rares are going up again? Green H'ween Mask was like 115M some time ago, now few weeks ago it was 70-80M, quite a drop. I hope it gets up to 100M+ again.

When free trade was around before the new implementation I would always go to free worlds and give away 100k to anyone who traded me. Also, while slaying I would gather tons of rune items. Anyone under 30 combat got laced up with rune items. I'm generally always very helpful.

What show a persons true personality is the way they treat other strangers when they know they'll receive no punishment or judgement for the actions they do, I was surprised (but not by much) almost every single person here was selfish; and I'm not talking about giving away millions, that's over board. I was talking about seeing a low level trying to buy some low food and giving you all of his money for it, at that point I usually give them a quick advice and give them some food and a lot of runes to get their magic level going.
I guess it's all about the values that your parents taught you, I've noticed that the people who had good friends as a kid (ex. taught them that when their friends are over, you should feed them, and expect to be fed in the opposite situation,) would show the kid values for hospitality, and general well being. I don't mean disrespect to people, I'm just observing peoples reaction and making note of peoples reasoning; another thing I noted was that most of programmers have a judging personality rather than perceiving one.
That is an interesting way to see this, Feroc1ty. But you can not make that accusation from only a few replies from people. Perhaps some people had a bad history on said game and do not really want to share what they have earned or not with other people? That can be completely understood and respected.
I, personally, love helping new people. Like on WoW, when I can actually play due to limited free time, I spend most of that time helping new people or people in my guild. But it always differs from person to person. I never actually give the new person any gold. I give them quest help, tips on making gold, leveling and I run them through instances and such that are good for their level, if not higher than their level and what they would need for many levels.
Artists are the same way about their artwork and even themselves as a person. Most artists are jerks (At least the ones in my family that are amazing artists, that is.) and that is how humans are interesting. They let their jobs affect their attitude and their personality from what they may have been before the job or even the hobby. I don't see how programmers could be that way though. Do you know why?

[semi-offtopic]I don't understand why people use words like nerd. someone plays rs and knows how to script they are automatically a nerd. I happen to just enjoy spending my free time on a video game and knowledge is power.
[super on topic!]Today I was at the GE and some dude was following my friend repeatedly asking for money. I totally have NO tolerance for beggars. I said to the guy "What is the point in having money in a game if your skills are shit?". I then hastily called him a loser for not even trying to skill and just beg. Then some person between lvl 110-115 started following me and said "Your lvl 137, your the loser."
I need your guys opinion, be honest: Do you think I am a loser because I enjoy spending mostly all my free time playing runescape? I have other hobbies such as playing the guitar and smoking herb. I also have a job. Personally I just think the people who see my combat lvl automatically think ALL I do is play rs and this is not the case.

Geek * not nerd
geeks are the ones with know how, nerds are well represented with the fake presentation of know how
something really neat I noticed with the updates.. a lot of stuff sells for more in general stores than it does in the GE so you can buy & sell and make profit.. such as almost every type of seed
Then explain how
GeekSquad sucks, please.
Thanks for the general store tip, by the way. I didn't realize that.

It doesnt work that way ;) or you must buy all the cooked chickens out of the g.e before that 20m. Otherwise you will buy for example a chicken from someone else who has his order on 10m and you will get another 10m refunded ;p

A geek does not imply that you have outstanding social skills as far as I know, for the record it has nothing to do with social skills whatsoever. Here is the definition:
The word geek is a slang term, noting individuals as "a peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, etc. …
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeekIn my experience an "odd" or "weird" persons never have good social skills, but the discussion went a way different direction than I wanted it to.
