Nicknames aren't used for random detection anymore. If you are failing randoms, you should report them to the respective developers with as much information as possible.

Here is the link for reflection randoms and here is the SRL randoms thread. If you are using Hybrid or Reflection walking, I believe the proper action is to report the random to Reflection randoms, and if you are only using colour then you should report the bug to SRL Randoms.

Oh okay, what are nicknames used for now then? Because I noticed they were on the script but not on the form. It just didn't add up to me

They are primarily used for progress reports. But I don't know how MSI is about it. So I may be incorrect on that.
I believe "Nick" will be removed upon SRL 5.

The player's nicknames are automatically generated in MSI. :)

I use the nick in my script for my progress report, so it doesn't show the players username (if they wish to post the progress report) it will only output 3-4 letters of their username

Nicknames used to be used for randoms detection when randoms used to talk to you (such as drunken dwarf, evil chicken, genie). Since these randoms no longer exist, nick is no longer used for randoms detection. They are useful for other things though such as progress reports and auto responders.
