MSI SLs say Yes or No

Sir R. M8gic1an

MSI is a community project, therefore everything gets added as long as it works.

As MSI is MSI, we'll be using the tracking system to keep a certain level and track of how good the functions are working.

This is what the tracking system looks like:

Ine ] ------------ MSI_Track Object
[ Ine ] -------------- ~ Track Record
[ Ine ] -------------- ~ ~ TrackObject
[ Ine ] -------------- ~ ~ Searches: 99
[ Ine ] -------------- ~ ~ Successes: 81
[ Ine ] -------------- ~ ~ Success %: 81

Every function that interacts with RS needs to have this.

eg: Object finder
— Objects Found

to be implemented:

type
TTrack = record;
tID, tConst: integer
tName: String;
tSearches, tFinds: integer;
//tCustom: TStringArray;
//TCustomR: TIntegerArray;

var
MSI_Track: TTrack;
tL: integer; //sometimes you are just better off using tL than calling length() all the time.

//Track_Start allows you to use a constant integer to keep track of your function. Else it'll return a chosen integer to you.
procedure Track_Start(var ID: integer; Name: String);
begin
Inc(tL);
SetLength(TrackRecords, tL);

tID := tL - 1;

if ID = 0 then
tConst := tL - 1
else
tConst := ID;

{
tCustom := copyArr(Custom); //not sure if CopyArr exists, but it should

SetLength(tCustomR, Length(tCustom));
}

tName := Name;

ID := tConst;

end;

//to track success rate
procedure TrackR(ID: integer; Success: boolean);

//to track custom setting's rates
procedure TrackC(ID, which: integer)

//to find the index of your custom Track Record
//mID = main ID
function FindCustomTrackID(mID: integer; subName: String): integer;
var
i: integer;
begin
for i := 0 to High(MSI_Track[ID]) do
if subName = MSI_Track[ID].tCustom[h] then
break;

if i > High(MSI_Track) then
Result := 0
else
Result := i;
end;

function PrintTrackRecord: boolean;

//let's do it RM Style.

if (FindCustomTrackID(RM_TRACK, 'MSI style') > 1)and(PrintTrackRecord) then
MSI_Debug('This shit sounds good');

suggestion for debug:
Keeping it in a global area / var and printing it at chosen times.

This would also allow the system to avoid unnecessary debugs, which it currently has.

here's a first thought:

dbg_count: integer;
sub_count: integer;

//we'll actually make this automatic cus it makes sense that way.

I'm going to tie the debugging and the tracking system together.

Also, the debugging system will look much cleaner.

It just makes sense to print the tracking records alongside the debug.

And I also need sleep and to figure out some patterns before I can actually write this ;)

If the script functions as it should…wouldnt it get boring seeing "100%" all the time?

Are you so arrogant to think you'd ever script 100% ? ;)

I forgot to mention a few key points. I got lost in the code.

yeh I am. Everyone gets to have their stuff in MSI as long as it follows those rules and stays above a certain level of success %

Also I really like the Extras system Zytex is coming up with :)

Hello Timer. How is cts 3 proof of scripting to a 100% standard?

Huh? Go look over feedback for my old scripts if you want. I guess to me somethings not "working" unless its as close to 100% as possible. Because I thought of doing this for debugging for my own scripts, but I decided the time would be better spent making things work better than showing how much it doesnt work.

80% = 2/10 times it fails…I wouldn't even bother releasing a script if it was in that state.

Sir R. M8gic1an

2011-01-24 00:32:01

But I guess that nowadays it'd take you a long time to figure out what parts of your scripts still work.

With a tracking system all you'd need would be a quick test run.
And if your Crafting Guild Miner still worked 70% I'd be impressed… It'd definitely need some colour updates tho.

It's notoriously accurate.

The Claw

2011-01-24 00:37:17

Good points…and MSI is a larger script to take care of so more updating. My CGM is long-gone atm, I'll fix it later. Still, doesn't hurt to aim for perfection with this stuff…don't wanna get banned or get other's banned or get a lower profit than what's possible, etc. :p

No, I was talking about The Claw's scripts and taking guesses at what success rates his script (which I never got to use because I wasn't a member at the time) would still have nowadays because honestly I felt quite offended that he said he wouldn't bother to release something at 80%.

And that's when I realized that my code was just outdated and that his would be too.

So what I was actually talking about was the usefulness of having an accuracy tracking system.

Something which hasn't actually been applied to cts 3 as far as I'm aware.

I still find it to relate to an overall subject of accuracy within scripts.

Oh I was just wondering where the hell your thoughts were trailing off to, that's all :p

Scar cts 3 is different from Simba cts 3.

Don't know more than that tho, I wasn't involved in the algorithm writing. And I've never really used either cts 3.

Simba does not have CTS3 last I checked..?

Markus

2011-01-24 09:45:45

Yea well we tried to reverse CTS3 (and got pretty close) but there seemed to be some kind of difference. Later Wizzup decided to kick it out of Simba.
What we got (courtesy of Ben)
[banana]Two colors: (X1, Y1, Z1) (X2, Y2, Z2)
NX1 = (X1 + Y1 + Z1) / X1 * (CTS3mod * 125)
NY1 = (X1 + Y1 + Z1) / Y1 * (CTS3mod * 125)
NX2 = (X2 + Y2 + Z2) / X2 * (CTS3mod * 125)
NY2 = (X2 + Y2 + Z2) / Y2 * (CTS3mod * 125)
Value = (NX1 - NX2)^2 + (NY1 - NY2)^2
Result = Value^2 <= Tol^2[/banana]
Because the formula is unknown it's also hard to generate appropriate parameters.

@Holy cow, everything now makes sense.: Why? The scripts I released so far have been nooby to make public seem I was new. Or at least, I thought so.

I'm Timer, a fan of SCAR, I do not support Simba. I was banned off SRL, but now I'm back with a new account.
Scripts I have released have not shown any of my scripting ability and I am currently working on two major contributions to the community, a world-wide web-walker, and a secret script.

How does that relate to a MSI thread?

And why where you banned then?

We were talking about accuracy within functions and object finding. I suggested cts 3, and RM called me out as Timer–making it public.
I was banned because I continuously bashed Simba, or at least, that was my understanding.

Please stay on topic people.

I don't think nearly every function needs a tracker – but it could be good idea for every individual TMSObject, and walking function.
