A good new hobby ?

Hello SRL ! :)
As school comes back into my constantly fluctuating life, I feel the need for a new hobby.
The thing is : I don't want it to be something along the lines of "scripting", I don't want it to be just sitting next to a computer, alone.
I want to have a hobby, which could proper change my life.
Anyone have ideas ?
PS : I already work out quite alot and its starting to show effects, although I should cut down the McDonalds and KFC totally :p.
PSS : I don't do any sport part from weight lifting and occasional cardio, anyone have any interesting stories or recommendations about swimming?
Thanks in advance !
–Dervish.
Hobby 1: Talk about getting a hobby. Take art classes, if you fancy art.
Hobby 2: Pretend you're another person for a week of every month. Only respond to that person's name.
Hobby 3: Get a job that requires you to lift things.
I suck at suggestions.
What you really need to focus on is keeping your mind constantly active, if possible. If you can keep your mind active for the rest of your life, you will not get the mental illnesses that are common amongst senior citizens. Such as Alzheimer's and other illnesses.

I went ice skating the other day and found it easier than I remembered (from 12 years ago). (also killed my legs since I don't use them much anymore)
Of course I will push RC cars/planes/helicopters, but I don't know how much of a budget you're able to allocate to the new hobby.
Learn to juggle, that's always fun!

Learn to play music. That is a very good time investment, a skill you will keep for the rest of your life. Good for the brain, good for the soul, excellent for the dames.
I am a pretty decent Bach guitar player myself. Absolutely adore it.
Mini-moto racing (Surprisingly tiring)
Shooting (BANG!)
Join a gym (Beasty)
BMXing (Wouldn't know what to say since I don't do it)
Turn gay (Don't know why, but it had to be said. Sorry :p)
EDIT: Agreeing with Wizzup? above. They say learning an instrument helps with maths…somehow…and other random stuff.

Art… Perfecting my photoshop skills ? Well that'd be me staying next to a computer though :( but it is entertaining and requires concentration… +rep !
Hobby 2 sounds like a psychopath's :p
A job… interesting… Must look into it :)

I personally love playing squash, a large portion of my life is taken up playing that, absolutely adore the game. And you don't have to be ridiculously fit to play it, you can play reasonably well at low levels merely from knowing where to hit the ball. But over time, you get fitter, and you have the ability to run to all shots, and retaliate with an equally devastating one.
Or music, big guitar player myself (I'm awful though :p), you don't have to be good to enjoy it, a lot of classic rock music is surprisingly easy to play, and some more modern things.

On that note, basketball is tons of fun, get from friends together and play 3 on 3 or something. I usually code or hang out with friends in my spare time. The ability to play the piano or guitar will get you tons of chicks, though, don't be that douche who brings his guitar everywhere…

Well you could take up bicycling, this has been my favorite hobby since I was around 6 years old and I still actively do it to this day and I'm 21 years old. I do this for, at the least, 2 hours every day. As a result, my cardio is off the charts, so to speak.

Yea, you could save up and travel if you wanted to… but I said time travel.
Yea, make things. Learn to be good with your hands ;) . If the economy crashed worldwide, and all basic utilities were rendered no more (electricity & the like), what could you do?? I enjoy learning different skills or trades (I have been practicing my whittling lately).

When it comes to hobbies I can tell most of you are misinterpreting them as competitive activities and you're missing the general point. They're supposed to be a major side-activity in your life, something that you can just have fun doing and whether or not you're competing to be better than someone else doesn't matter, you're doing it for you.
Yeah I can relate to your predicament having limited places to go bicycling in a city like Paris, but I'm sure by now you know your surrounding area pretty good so while it's not exactly raging down-hill mountain cross, you're still getting out with friends, enjoying just getting away from the house/family for a while, working on multiple parts of body fitness, ect…
Football is a hobby to me as well dude. I play it not only for my school but on the side and whenever I can…

A hobby is an activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure or relaxation, often in one's spare time.

If you're looking for an indoor hobby, a recent favorite of mine has been controller and console modding. Opening them up, soldering in LEDs and the occasional mod chip… I'm currently wiring an accelerometer into a 360 controller to give a sort of artificial sixaxis support. Of course since I'm an engineering major, that's the kind of thing I find entertaining and relaxing.
If you're looking for more outdoorsy activities, camping has always been a favorite of mine. Again, I'm biased for having been a Boy Scout. Swimming during the summer is always great, and biking (mountain or road) is a great way to get out in the winter.
