MSI Dev SVN

Maybe have a Dev SVN that wouldn't really be used by anyone actually autoing. This could open up for easier testing before stuff gets added to the official SVN.

For example, some thing new being added can be added to the DEV Svn which it will get tested by all of the devs. This will keep the official SVN more bug free.

Comments?

Imho it's not actually needed at the moment

I guess if we needed to test something (just for SL's) we could just post in the SL boards and have each other add it to test.

or just include it with defines if we really need it tested, that way users can choose to test it or not.

I say you use Git and just tag stable branches..

Eventually.

And in my honest opinion I think it would be more of a pain to maintain two SVNs.

Just remeber what happened with SRL public SVN and SRL Open Dev SVN ;)

Use branches?

For example, maintain a ``development'' branch; and merge the main branch with development once you deem it stable.

Hm, didn't know you could do that with SVN. I thought that was the major reason people wanted to move to git?

Wizzup's idea is nice, and git does it nicely, but I still say tagging is a much better idea.

Yes, but we don't use git yet, and there's really too much to be doing right now to make a move like that.

I moved reflection to git..

It took me less than 20 minutes.

Yeah, doesn't take long to actually move it, it's the fact that we'll have to learn to use it and there's way to much to be doing right now, and IMHO we don't really need to. :o
