Thank you to all those of you who took part in the historic RuneScape Referendum, which ended on Friday. We received an incredible 1.2 million votes, with a united 91% of you voting for the restoration of free trade and the Wilderness. We have heard your call and will be restoring these much loved features to RuneScape on Tuesday 1st February.

The clock is ticking and you have just two weeks to get ready for this monumental update. To help you prepare, we will be releasing a series of guides, FAQs and expert advice about the Wilderness and free trade, so that players both old and new can get ready for this epic release.

Now it is up to you to prepare for battle, level your account, gear up your armour and equip yourself for the ultimate Wilderness experience.

There is just one question left unanswered: are you ready?

I have my main and a pker.. It's nice to be able to transfer cash. Oh yeah and my army they give me m0neyz too.

This is going to be fun, I'm hoping to bring the old team back together for complete group ownage.. as long as my strategies are full proof still lol. I just hope the economy dips a little for the poor players who can't merchant like me lol. being poor in this game does not make this game enjoyable that's for sure. -.-

Edit: now that I think about it.. This sucks the economy won't change and I'm gonna have to spend more hours I don't have to get skills way up just to make enough money to afford runes.. Ugh this still sucks. F'in economy -.-

Hmm that's weird, probably doing some preparations. Feb 1 isn't too far away. The Free trade will be easy for them to convert. But Right now they are probably doing some internal work. Or I could be wrong who knows. Servers might just be down..

Mining/smelting in f2p, for p2p there are a shitload of money making methods that also work fine legit.

Depends on how you look at success. There will be more active periods but it will be less spread out which is probably worse for ad time.

No, that wound ruin the game. The nice part about their current system is there is changes frequent enough to keep it interesting for some people, whilst not changing so much so often.

I wish they do something with the new weapons in duel arena… I hope they would add "No untradeables" and "No staff of light" options to duel arena lol :( (Staff of light spec reduces all melee damage 50%)

Chaotic weapons sure… But you needn't worry about staff of light unless you allow magic. Otherwise I doubt you'd have to worry about someone attacking you with a staff of light LOL

As of 18 January 2011, the "Attack" option was secretly added to the menu while right-clicking on a player in the Wilderness in certain areas. Clicking it yields "You can only attack players in a player-vs-player area".

I don't think so, Jagex was still highly successful without free trade. I imagine they figured out some deals with or techniques to stop credit card fraud. (Look at all the prepaid cards now, walk into any store and you can buy one)

I imagine the only reason why free trade is coming back is because they feel confident that they can battle credit card fraud. This is, if you believe Jagex in the first place when they said that was the reason why free trade was removed.

Extremely interested in how that goes.. I do know 50+ people who have done trades "RWT" on other forums and I have them PMing me about any ban that happens… these are like 100M trades to multiple people from one account

so far it's been 15+ hours and no bans

i drop traded some iron ore still no ban :)

drop trading sounds more sketchy than just giving your people money. If anything, that gives them a sign to investigate you as opposed to just giving them money to your 'friends' etc.



But I'll wait a bit to see what people experience with their trades.

This update made me start play rune after a long break!!
