MSI Teleporter

I think this would make a nice next magic script. It's easy, and it will work almost exactly the same as the alcher (minus the alching items). Anyone up for the challenge?

I'll be here to help whoever wishes to contribute. :)

I'm willing to help. Unfortunately I do not know much about Coding with MSI. =[ But I'll try.

Well the most important part, I think, is to get a good IsTeleporting function written. Look at IsAlching

function MSI_IsAlching(WaitTime: Integer): Boolean;
var
t: Integer;
b: TBox;
begin
t := (GetSystemTime + WaitTime);

b := IntToBox(MSCX - 30, MSCY - 40, MSCX + 30, MSCY + 15);
SMART_DrawBoxEx(True, b, clRed);

while (GetSystemTime < t) do
begin
if (PixelShift(b, 200) > ANIM_COL_ALCH) then
begin
MSI_SubDebug('We are alching!');
Result := True;
Exit;
end;

Wait(RandomRange(10, 30));
end;

Result := False;
end;
Not very complex. We can even work in Reflection animations to ``confirm" the color results (i.e. if color thinks we're teleporting, check the reflection animation to make sure).

I think that would be a good place to start. :)

Ok, I'll start that now. Add me on MSN or AIM just incase I need help.

Why would you not make a superheater script as you can make up to 100k+/h magic and decent smithing exp from it… makes no sense. Teleporting is slower and is less cost effective then superheating as you can currently make a profit from steel and addy bars

+1 especially addy. Also I'm guessing reporting would probably be less likely.

MSI is a community project and people are welcome to work on whatever they want. The reason I said a teleporter is because I'm usually the one that ends up finishing things like this, and a super heater would take a lot more work, and I have too many more important things to do right now.

Also, wow, I didn't know you could get that much xp from super heating. :p

That has always been my plan for the next magic script, I just always get distracted with bug fixes, but it won't be long. :)

I too suggest to make a Super Heater, as it will be good when paired with mining in the future :)

With steel u can get around 50k magic/hr but any higher then that u get 30kish/hr.
Gold you probably could (cause of no coal) but you lose around 300k per 1k superheats…

If you do decide on making a teleporting script I'd love to test it. I think it would be a great idea cuz getting to 55 mage by cursing or doing it legit any way is pretty damn annoying =P

Hmmmm yes, I like your way of thinking. Didnt ever think of that before. I'm going to definitely try this =D

Well, perhaps I can work on something like this (or any magic function really. Perhaps an awesome generic function? Hmm, i'll think about it). But I have exams until like Tuesday or Wednesday. And I also want to put a little thought/work into my walker.

So what happened with this?

I too want a Superheater in MSI. I also feel that MSI_Alch and similar functions should be renamed/re-made into MSI_Alchemy (http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Magic#Types_of_spells) and make support for all Alchemy spells.

Anyone up for the challenge? I think we could do this today if we want to

EDIT:
Other spells that could be included in MSI_Alchemy: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Humidify, http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Superglass_Make, and the other Lunar Skill related spells

Already planned on doing something similar to this today. :)

While I was fixing up alching for p2p, Coh3n suggested it would be a good time to make the changes to Magic.Simba we've been waiting to do. Once that's done, I planned on adding a Super heater as it will be quite simple.

I don't recommend coding anything with our current Magic.Simba as it's about to change a bit.

Best thing you could do is make a TItem record for all the bars (including the DTM for them).

BAR_STEEL:
with MSI_Items[whichItem] do
begin
Name := 'Steel Bar';
UpText := [''];
Colors := [];
Tol := 0;
Stackable := False;
end;

Find more examples in MSI/MSI/Items.Simba

We will also need a procedure to determine how many of each bar can be created with 1 InvFull, and how many of each ore is required.

Edit: Might end up adding the amount of each ore per bar to the TItem record for organization, not positive yet though.
