SRL Stats Release!

I'd like to discuss anything about the new stats system and how to get it in MSI as soon as possible. I have a few ideas to expand on what we currently have.
  • We should have specifics (i.e. Normal, Oak, Yew Logs), rather than just totals. The reason for just totals was because the temporary stats system was limited to 10 custom variables.
I'd like to discuss anything else we think should be kept track of. Also, please post any information (or mini-tutorial) of how to actually implement the new stats into a script. I'll try to figure it out when I have more time, but for the moment, post what you know!

Cheers,
Cohen

Okay so now that it's up and running and added to SRL, I think we need to push to get this into MSI. We need to keep our status as No.1 after all. ;)

Username: MSI Phoenix
Password: srl-msi
We need to add all the variables (I've added the ores), and we need to figure out how we're going to add too all of them in MSI. I was thinking we could just use the item's name, but I'm not exactly sure what string the stats functions need to take.

Look here if you need some info about stats. You can also look at SRL's stats.simba.

E: Okay so I've thought about it a little (I've also added all the other variables for MSI in the registered script). If you don't mind logging in and double checking for me that would be great. Now, to actually properly implement in MSI. I've talked to Wizzup about making it so we can add to the variables using the variable ID on the stats site, rather than just the name. This is in case the name were to change for some reason, the scripter wouldn't have to update their script. Whether we use strings or integers, here's how I think we should do it.

Because we can do specific things (normal and oak logs, etc), I think we should add an attribute to TItem (StatsName/StatsID, depending which is used), so we can easily call stats_IncVariable. For example:

stats_IncVariable(MSI_Items[ItemIndex].StatsName, 28);
I think this would require some rewriting in MSI_AddToProggy, but that's not really a bug deal.

Just change MSI's constants to match SRL STATS' variable numbers.

Then stats_IncVariable(ORE_IRON, 28);

;)

I like the idea but it could get difficult, couldn't it?

I think that would be more trouble than it's worth. I could be wrong though. And right now, it's strings only anyway.

I would rather just have an added attribute, but that's just me.

I think it makes more sense logistically to do this.

This has been committed. :) I just used strings as that's the only way it works for now.
