Exception in Script Code;8

Exception in Script: Failed to create new thread, code:8
The following DTMs were not freed: [SRL - Lamp bitmap]
The following bitmaps were not freed: [SRL - Mod bitmap, SRL - Admin bitmap]
File[C:\Simba\Includes\SRL/logs/SRL log 24-12-10 4.txt] has not been freed in the script, freeing it now.

It brings up a new tab and stops my script. I've tried 4 different scripts and it does the same. also getting this error
[Hint] C:\Simba\Includes\SRL/SRL/core/gametab.scar(1514:3): Variable 'P' never used at line 1513

My Scripts start but fail to do certain parts because of that code:8.
What do I do?!?!

I know this is probably the wrong place to post But I can't find a better one

Which scripts are you running? It could be outdated scripts maybe?

traveler

one of them is my script, which isnt outdated. Theres a bug in simba or something that causes the memory to just keep increasing after long periods of use. If there is a problem in my script, i have been unable to find it.

I just checked in my script, which has been running for almost an hour now. Simba is using 300 000K (whatever unit that is..) of memory, says task manager. I have one DTM which I free after each use. There isn't any memory leak in my script that I can find, but that's a lot of memory being used up.

I think reflection randoms cause these things, I've got this error 3 times now, every time in reflection randoms. :)

Fire up Runescape, see Firefox memory usage jump up by 300 000K. ;-)
It's just Runescape/Java/SMART using that memory. Not Simba.

There are no known leaks in Simba and certainly not when running a script. None that I know of anyway.

Yes, you have to remember that SMART loads and runs RuneScape, so high memory usage is expected

KingKong

2010-12-24 20:52:21

Yes, I agree that it takes a lot of RAM when smart is running because of the reasons mentioned above, but i don't understand why it still uses that much when the smart is closed.(Thats where the memory leak happens, i think)

I noticed it stayed quite steady after that actually. It just skyrocketed for the first 10 minutes or so. Which is a slow climb considering that it should just load it instantly IMO.

But why these out of memory, etc?

Are you running a 64-bit OS?

I'm having this exact same error on every script I run. No idea why.

Can you post a screenshot of the script you use?

Output of the debug console would be more helpful.

Closing SMART doesn't do anything else than hiding the GUI. SMART is still loaded, and there is no memory leak

So does that mean I can close the SMART gui and it will continue to bot?

No. It contains the applet/whatever which Simba needs to see to work.

HUH? I thought when I click the 'x' button on the top right for ANY program, it would close and free up its memory(not just hide the gui), as is the case for 99.99% of all programs that i've used. Also please do tell me how this is not considered a memory leak?(I don't see anything working, but its taking RAM, hmmmm…..wonder what it could be other than a memory leak? :p).

^ this. I should logically still be able to bot as you say zytex, since i've only closed the gui.

I have no knowledge of how most programs work, but I understand Simba. When the GUI is closed, RS is not there anymore. Simba is supposed to find the colours on nothing? The hooks from nothing? I'm sure you've noticed it takes a little while to load SMART the first time you open it with Simba. I find (personally) that it loads faster the second time. Because everything is loaded already. This is not a memory leak, it's a function built into the program. The ties with the server are cut, but everything else is still loaded.

If I wanted to keep smart open so that i could work on it later, I would keep it open. I only close it because I no longer need it, so is there anyway for it to free up the resources its using?

i luffs yeww

2010-12-28 20:32:47

By the way, 99% of the programs you close don't really close.. :p A lot of things do this. All Apple stuff does, really. A lot of it opens without doing anything at all.

I have a bunch of iTunes and Zune stuff open even though my Zune is full and I charge it in a wall outlet. I didn't even know I used my Zune on this partition (*new* (kinda) download of win7).

Point is, a lot of stuff stays open. Websites store stuff on your computer all the time even if you don't have a web browser open, I hope you're aware.

*sigh* I shouldn't have used the word GUI..

When you load Simba, the smart dll gets loaded too.
When you make smart setup, smart loads the runescape jar and all the other stuff it needs to run properly, when you later on close smart, simba doesn't free those stuff, smart has to do that, and since it's not free'd it's still allocated in the memory, so when you start smart again, it doesn't have to re-load all those files once more.

Also, just to clear this up, the RS Client is a bitch when it comes to closing — it won't go away without closing the JVM, and closing the JVM will terminate the whole process thereby closing Simba also. So yes, after you close SMART, all of SMART's resources are freed (which doesn't amount to much, by the way) but the JVM and the RS client stays loaded in the background. It sort of flushes itself out if you load it again, though. Essentially it is a memory leak, but its not really avoidable.

So it's RuneScape/Java's fault.. how surprising..

So does it clean up after the fact, then?

Yes, after simba closes. Which is why everyone should close simba after closing SMART to kill memory leaks.
