Login procedure types too fast

Sometimes the login procedure types far too fast. For example, I just started my cooker, and it typed in my user/pass (between the two, that's 22 characters) in less than a second.

I'm not sure if this really matters though, since we're technically not logged in yet at this point, so it's not really grounds for a blackmark :p

AFAIK Jagex can't see what you are doing while not logged in, therefore the faster the better :D

Of course they can see this behaviour, the question is: do they do this?

Well technically you aren't in the game, so i dont think they care about that. Thats the reason i always type in the user/pass myself unless its a pretty complicated one.

i can certainly type my username and password in less than a second, I type it so regularly its automatically

I agree with OP. It can't hurt to turn up the waiting in the text sending procedures. I feel it's way too high right now.

could we have a variable to change the typing speed? sorta like we have for mousespeed

The only reason I'd say to tone it down is because sometimes when my comp lags, it messes up the name/pass.

KingKong

^The same happens to me, which is why I type my pass in manually and also because someone might steal my password *looks around suspiciously*

I think a check on the username before the enter key is pressed could prove useful, reflection could do it easily, and colour could check the text easy enough also

colour could check the username before we try and log in, and reflection could double check both the username an password also

Or if it detects that it messes it up, it just backspaces it and retries..

But it doesn't; only when it has a failed log in, but it never gets that far.

He's saying that could be added.

You said the login typing is to fast, do you also think the TypeSend function types too fast?

KingKong

Doesn't the login use TypeSend as well?

The only time I ever use TypeSend is when I'm withdrawing X number of items from a bank, and when I do that legit I use my number pad and I can enter numbers really fast with my number pad. So in short, no, not for my applications.

What I'm trying to ask is: Do you think TypeSend and the login procedure are the same speed?

Someone made a fix that uses SMARTSendKeys..

Edit: Sorry, had to take a shit when I was typing that. But yeah, SendKeys is instant as far as I know, so that would be your problem..

I thought the same, but if you test it, there's no noticeable difference.

It could be changed with a simple edit.

Add two integer variables in text.simba
- KeyMS
- RandKeyMS

These can be changed like MouseSpeed. Just replace the waits with the variables.

If a user chooses not to set their own, the default (40) can be set for both.

var
OldLine, TheLine, TheName: string;
KeyMS, RandKeyMS : Integer;

{ const clMessage, clChat, clTrade, clFriend
Description: Text colour constants. }
const
clMessage = clBlack;
clChat = clBlue;
clTrade = clPurple;
clFriend = 128;

//CODE CUT

procedure TypeSendEx(Text: string; PressEnter: Boolean);

Description: Sends human like text.
*******************************************************************************}
procedure TypeSendEx(Text: string; PressEnter: Boolean);
var
S: string;
I, L: Integer;
Shift: Boolean;
begin
if KeyMS = 0 then
KeyMS = 40;
if RandKeyMS = 0 then
RandKeyMS = 40;
S:= 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXZ' + '~!@#$%^&*()_+{}|:"<>?';
L := Length(Text);
for I := 1 to L do
begin
Shift := (Pos(Text[i], S) > 0);
if (Shift) then
begin
KeyDown(VK_SHIFT);
Wait(KeyMS + Random(RandKeyMS));
while (Pos(Text[i], S) > 0) and (I <= Length(Text)) do
begin
TypeByte(GetKeyCode(Text[I]));
Wait(KeyMS + Random(RandKeyMS));
Inc(I);
if (I > Length(Text)) then Break;
end;
end;
if (Shift) then
KeyUp(VK_SHIFT);
Wait(KeyMS + Random(RandKeyMS));
if (I <= Length(Text)) then
begin
TypeByte(GetKeyCode(Text[I]));
Wait(KeyMS + Random(RandKeyMS));
end;
end;
if (PressEnter) then
TypeByte(GetKeyCode(Chr(13)));
end;
