SRL Archive - Who Are You ? Who ? Who ?

Hello, most of you probably don't remember me, name is SDcit. I used to help out around these forums around 4-5 years ago or so, and am looking to try and come back onto the scene, at least for a bit. I was just wondering whether anyone out there from back when I was active is still around, and whether anything major has changed while I was gone. If anyone can fill me in, it would be much appreciated!

A lot has changed.

Simba has been created, it is a SCAR alternative. It is developed and maintained by the SRL community.

We now use a method called reflection in addition to color.
There is also "injection" and "openGL" (unsure about what exactly those 2 are)

Simba isn't developed by freddy, I think its developed by some of the members here(anyone with a lion pic next to their avatar)

Nope, Freddy had no part at all in Simba.

Wizzup and mastaRaymond started it, then after it was a solid foundation it slowly branched out into a wider development pool.

Welcome back to the forums, Sdcit. It is always good to have more members on the forums.

There are a few exceptions like Wizzup is a developer but he doesn't have a Simba cup because of some Immunity or other thing he gets on the forum.

But most Simba devs have the cup.

He chooses not to have it. There are a lot of cups Wizzup chooses not to have.

Interesting, thanks for the help! I'll take a look at this Simba and reflection and see what I can do to help out around here. Do any of you know if people like Pyro, Digg, or Kane are still active?

Digg and Kane haven't been active in years and years.

Pyro has popped in and out a few times but not consistent

Kane is still relatively active on Mopar's forums actually.
As for driger, he is no longer interested in rs but benland tells me that he has talked to him on facebook a few times.
And wade….he lost himself to being high on 'life' :D

Simba was developed by Raymond, me and quite a few others. (nielsie95,ben,bullzeye,…) As an alternative to SCAR because SCAR was not open source. (There were other issues with SCAR too, when it came to instability)
You see it on mopar because the moment we released Simba mopar removed the SCAR forums and replaced them with Simba forums. Mopar offers automated builds for Simba and is planning/hoping to contribute in some ways in the future. :)

Yeah, but it's not really an issue to me. I also didn't give it to myself because I was too lazy to remove myself from the immutable users in the config.php. :p
