I'm getting Final Fantasy XIV from my girlfriend for Christmas. I've been looking forward to this, however i have read many bad reviews about it. I'm assuming most of these are from people who play for an hour and get frustrated because they don't know how to play MMO's/don't expect such a great amount of time dedication, so they think it sucks. Has anyone here played it, and if so can you give me your opinion? Also, if you were wondering it, I'm getting it on PC ;)
P.S. MW2 > Black Ops.
I loved FFXI and I went and got FFIV. I can honestly say I don't like it much at all. I highly Dislike the new battle system. I have it on PC.

I loved XI too. That sucks that you don't like it =\ Are there servers, or what? Tell me which one you play on so we can meet up if it's opportune :p
Forgot one of the main points. You get only one job for the character ever(This blows). I've deleted and remade my account 3 times already because I hate the jobs. Stopped playing about 2 weeks ago. I can't for the life of me remember what server I was on.

I love how wikipedia counts CheatCode Central as a valid source for an opinion.
CheatCC is a valid source for an Opinion. Any person or magazine can be a source of an opinion. Honestly though the game blows more than most any other MMO I've seen.

Wrong? Just change your weapon and your class changes. I'm a Marauder/Blacksmith right now :)

I feel that final fantasy has being going down hill ever since FFX, I haven't considered buying another game after that masterpiece otherwise it will taint my image of the game, considering what I have heard about for FFX-2, FFXI and FFXII. :)

Have you tried XIII? It's my 2nd favorite, after X. And honestly, X is only my favorite because it was my first and i get super nostalgic when i play.

mmm I loved X the most due to how connected you get to feel towards the characters and the actual scenario, also blitzball kicks arse, the aeons are great, the leveling system works to how you want your character to go, overall an amazing setup I believe :) Well my first was VIII and I think both of them are quite amazing :)
I might have to try out XIII, someone I know would probably have it :)
XIII is pretty nice I have it for 360 I think.
