Hey, me and my buddy are buying & selling phones , although question here is will we get in trouble for buying and selling a stolen phone, but let say we seriously didn't know it was stolen… and sold it.
btw, I'm in the USA.

Selling phones ah. Depends on how the phone was bought, if it was it bought from a company selling contracts (sim card) That was they can track the phone (if its been reported stolen). I wouldn't worry about it that much. I've sold alot of phones, haven't gotten in any trouble.

in the UK
you will only get penalised if you know its stolen
if you seriously had no idea they were stolen, then they would take it off you and most of the time just leave it at that
if they thought you did know, then they might do something about it

if you have a stolen phone on your possession and you have some kind of receipt of sale, probably the only thing the cops will do is take it from you, and you'll be out of the money you paid for it.

I have a friend that got caught selling stolen Phones. the cops did not really do anything but take the phones away and call his parents. But they were SUPER PISSED off about it. i would be more careful about what your friends and family will think, vs the leagal rules.

[OffTopic]If you are stealing phones, don't do it.
If you are knowingly buying stolen phones, you are pretty much just encouraging the stealing of phones. Just don't do it and find a more legit way to make money somehow.

^what YHJ said.
P1nky, screw you for doing this. Having phones stolen from you is NOT fun - i would know this. Don't advocate it please.
E: not meant to be offensive - perhaps screw the people who do this in general.

Sell me a Droid X and I'll be your best friend.
Edit: Before you get the wrong impression, I DON'T support stolen phones, if it's legit I'll buy it, maybe.
