Wtf is this all about?

Hi guys (RM/Coh3n),

I'm leaving reflection, and probably SRL and heading elsewhere. Based on what IRC SRL admins and other members told me, is what I'm basing this decision on. I didn't really expect it, and I'm a bit sad on what they think as a whole. I feel that my time is up to be honest, and it's probably more or less my time to move somewhere else.
** for clarification it doesn't have to do with what they think of the reflection include

Thus reflection development from me ends immediately, the randoms will no longer be developed, nor maintained by myself… therefore unless N1ke gets a ton of time on his hands, the ones that are broken will now remain broken, and unless there is a huge change over, I don't recommend abandoning color solvers or merging both together. I know you guys said that your plan was

I do not know pyroryan's stance on the issue of what just happened.

My personal advice is to develop that color worldwalker ASAP, as I don't know what future reflection has. It could still work, but I'm not interested in being a part of it's future anymore.
For the worldwalker, sorry that it won't be updated :(

Obviously he is making a mountain out of a molehill, but I do think part of it comes from miscommunication (which then has an effect on others that read the thread).
Below does not even call SmartFieldGetArray (let alone know what it does) or whatever it's called, so it's not developing on or directly with the technique of reflection. However it does need to be in the reflection include, and people who take the time make functions like that deserve recognition. Perhaps 'pascal reflection include dev' would be more accurate than grouping it together with what pyroryan/etc does, but right now the current system is 'reflection dev' and it seems to work.

The problem here, and I'm not sure if anyone explained this clearly, was that he did "attempt" to develop with the "technique of reflection" by trying to find the absolute x/y coords of interfaces (menus) on the screen, and came complaining to me about wanting extra functionality in SMART (specifically the ability to find the absolute x/y coordinates of interfaces). Since he didn't understand the "technique of reflection" he couldn't formulate a question beyond "do it for me" (which is something i didn't know how to do anyway) and he began to attack me for not wanting to help out and crippling SMART or w/e. I did tell him the functionality is (and it IS, I didn't just say it was) there already, but he didn't understand the basics enough to even know what I meant by that. He, basically, had no idea how reflection worked, and said on IRC that he didn't need to know and didn't want to learn. Then I told him he didn't know shit about reflection and shouldn't be a developer [with that attitude]. So, you can take his PM at face value or understand that he really didn't know what he was doing and got all defensive about it.

I agree with you… but you can imagine my face when I got that PM right? Here's a guy who was 100% onto supporting reflection and all of the sudden…. huh? what?

I assumed he was doing something like that, getting in over his head. I agree that it's annoying, and a bad attitude and all that. But saying that he shouldn't be a developer at all discourages him and others from doing what they do know how to do. It would be more accurate to tell him that he should not attempt to mess with the low level stuff until he does want to put a lot of effort into learning how it works.

Isn't that exactly what a reflection developer should be doing, messing with the low level stuff?

My opinion is very simple..

My motivation to develop the functions and solvers ran out when people started to talk down on it instead of helping. I've done my best to get good standard code into the svn, but apparently that's impossible.

If there were two titles, 'reflection developer' and 'pascal reflection include developer', then yes that's what the they should be doing. But as there is only one, it is what some of them should be doing (and only be attempting if they have the right knowledge- which is what cstrike should be told), not necessarily all of them.

Now I remember what the deal with the master coordinates was!

#613

– getMasterX added for fca.masterX (I)
– getMasterY added for fca.masterY (I)

Unless I'm mistaken, masterX, is an injected field or a method. We don't have one.
