If FindNormalRandoms logs out my character telling me that a mod is found one more time I'm gonna kill someone.

There's hundreds of mods and seeing one at G.E. isn't a prime fucking reason to log my character out.

From: Feroc1ty
How is it pointless? Every world has mods, I'm supposed to be herded around?

You'll realize how annoying it is when you start to use a script at G.E.

Didn't take too long.

What's wrong with being frustrated with SRL?

Nothing is wrong with being frustrated, but how you vent that frustration is the matter. He could have phrased it much better, and all he had to do was have a look through the include or a search to fix his problem.

That were both ok posts. The profanity wasn't over the top IMO.

wait till he looses control with someone, when a conflict starts for example, then you'll see his real attitude xD.

This.

IMO he definitely didn't learn from his application one bit. As Rich, I am not surprised either.

It sounds to me like you're grasping at straws in an attempt to get him banned again. If you found his message offensive, perhaps you need some thicker skin. If you didn't and still think something's wrong with it, perhaps you could explain exactly what the problem you have with it is.

Rich

I'm not trying to get him banned at all, and my skin is thick enough, but thanks for the concern. The problem I have with it is that everyone was saying that he's changed completely, and he's a great guy, and let's change his rep, and let's love him to bits because he made a couple of decent posts, but these posts show otherwise. Get it now?

I don't recall seeing "everyone saying he's changed completely …" anywhere on the forum. What I do remember, however, is the majority of people who posted on the topic RM made raging about his reputation being reset. Perhaps you were misled, but I don't think the forum as a whole has changed its opinion about Feroc1ty whatsoever.

Why are you arguing with me? If I change the 'everyone' to 'some people' would your life be complete? All I'm trying to do is get my opinion across and you're having a hissy fit. I'm trying to do is show the people (see how I said 'people' and not 'everyone') who thought he'd changed, and learnt from his application that he hasn't. He's still got the attitude which requires swearing in almost every post, and he's still as fiery and short-tempered as ever before.

What's wrong with challenging someone's viewpoint? I think this topic is pointless, and I'm trying to figure out why you feel it's necessary to inform the members about his progress (or lack thereof, as this thread is suggesting) on the forums.

No, my life wouldn't "be complete". Your post would, however, be more accurate. There's also no need to try to attack me when I'm simply responding to the points you're making. Suggesting that I'm having a "hissy fit" seems pretty silly to me.

Again, I don't think anyone who follows Feroc1ty's posts needs this clarification. They probably haven't changed their opinion, unless they did so for some odd reason after RM's post.

This is just as 'bad' as his post. You claim that he is arrogant and hasn't changed. All I see from you is arrogance.

Throwing insults? Isn't that 'bad'? You claim that he's throwing insults and saying things that 'could have been phrased better'.

You're attitude is just as fiery and short tempered, however you display yourself as being quite the opposite by changing the words you use.
Rather than saying 'fuck off', you say 'why are you arguing with me'.
Rather than saying 'fuck you', you say "you're having a hissy fit".

Everyone has a different way of putting things.
I'll say, 'stop wanking', you say?

I'm going to point out that you and Cstrike seem to be the only ones that have enough wank to 'present your opinion', ie: get Ferocity banned.

Ok, I am usually pretty laid back and try to be at least understanding and open in the things I say… But really, more and more people are starting to sound like whining babies around here. IF someone says something bad, report it. You don't need to go around pointing a finger every time someone screws up or is completely out of line. Everybody has the power to do their part in reporting something. You don't need to freaking make an "I told you so" thread. Honestly, this sort of lame crud is more annoying and if this $hit is the attitude of the community, then he is already in line.

E: its not necessarily what 'peoples' are saying, really it's the how. You may have a point, but seriously think about it before you rage post like nearly every damn time before.

Rich

2010-12-11 17:34:55

Can you people not understand that I'm not trying to get him banned? All I'm doing is pointing out that he hasn't changed! Do you not read what I type, or do you read it and just completely ignore it? I know that sometimes I can have a bit of a short temper, but only on very rare occasions do I swear like Feroc1ty, who does it non-stop. This thread isn't about me, or my temper; it's about Ferocity.

One last time, in case you didn't notice it all the other times I've typed it:

To LordSaturn, Method, noidea, anonymity, please if you care to answer these questions:

1. The community atmosphere has been around for a long time. Swearing is, or maybe was, at least was a sure-fire way to get yourself nuked. Do you support swearing in the community? Yes or no question. If you support it a little when people get mad at something and say for example "Fucking program won't work", then the answer should be yes.

2. Do you believe we should be allowed to curse at people?

3. Do you believe that at SRL, we should not care about how people feel because they should have a thick skin?

4. Where do you draw the line between being offensive or not?

EDIT2:If no one disagrees with swearing in the community, then so be it. I don't have a problem cursing/being blunt…etc, just I feel that I can't do it here because when I do, I get infracted. When I get infracted, I get banned. So the goal is to keep the bar the same for everyone, right?

@Noidea, re-read Rich's post to understand his main point.
EDIT: NVM he summed it up for you above. Disregard.

The second one isn't even remotely out of line.

  1. No, I don't support swearing. However, I don't feel it should be treated as taboo, either. If it comes up, so be it. If it's not being used to attack someone or is used excessively in a way that detracts from the message the user is trying to get across, I have no problem with it.
  2. No. Flaming users, with or without the use of profanity, shouldn't be allowed.
  3. No, I just think users need to be a little more hesitant to post threads like these when they see something they deem profane or inappropriate. Reporting the post probably would have been more suited to this situation. If the staff felt the posts were inappropriate, they would handle them as such.
  4. I think I summed up my feelings about this in numbers one and two.

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. That depends on the Subject. Yes we should care if someone posts a thread 'my sister was raped and is pregnant with the rapist's child.' A case of "this guy isn't acting the way I feel he should" is when someone should have 'thicker skin' depending on the situation.
This thread is a perfect example of you whiners needing thicker skin.
4. Offensive: goatse. Non-offensive: language such as fuck herp derp shit.

These are not the Christian or Religious forums. Grow thicker skin.

His posts annoy me at times but I don't really care that much. I think he's an example of a "wanabe cool" guy on the internet. I bet he doesn't even get to tell his opinion IRL, so he has to force his thought on the web…

I wouldn't bann him since he's a scripter but I also wouldn't reset his rep. Anyway I think hell get the red block of rep back sooner or later ;)

Last time I checked, that's not enough for a ban. Wizzup?, RM and Markus should've been banned long time ago if that was the case

Sure people have been infracted for swearing, but he obviously doesn't care about infractions, and I'm sure we could dig up lots of quotes from staffers saying that infractions basically don't matter because they expire eventually. I specifically remember RM saying that, and I'm 75% sure that Wizzy has said the same thing.

So instead of complaining and letting everyone know that you are upset, just report the post and if the staff agree he will get an infraction, else just let it be. Posting how upset you are just leads to drama like this.
