Tomorrow is my anniversary of SRL. Thats right, I have been here a whole year, and I have learned alot.
Who is Bad Boy JH?
First, a new introduction, my name is James Hibbard, I live in Newcastle in Australia. I am 17, and have finished my HSC earlier in the year, I am a maths wiz, with my older siblings managing to get me dealing with negative numbers and other random maths stuff before I started school. Sadly they didn't bother to teach me about phonetics, and as such, I have TERRIBLE spelling, because of how I try and spell words (its a long complicated story).
I have the ability remember rules for games really well (I am a wargammer - Warhammer, Necromunda, DBA and Hordes of the Things, just to name a few) and pick up programming really well, however, remembering what I had for dinner last night, or what you said 5 minutes ago, I won't have a clue.
For Those who are interested, here is a photo. Its from our recent formal, which is why I am in a suit.
My History with SRL
I did actually exist here before that, back in 2008, back when we were at srl-forums, although I didn't stay for long, although I did try my hand at scripting, rather poorly though. I have actually found my old account…Big_Jim, and my first EVER script…right here
After that I got bored with it, and left.
The following year I was bored, and needed a hobby, and to learn some programming for my HSC course, Software Design and Development, and immediatly got straight into it, with a cooker, and then a yew woodcutter later, before a break during this year.
I came back, with a passion, and to find that reflection was finally fixed, after hearing about it for ages, and since then have been helping the devs to develop that, whilst still scripting some more minor scripts.
I also have used the programming knowledge in Software D&D as I originally planned, creating a computer version of a board game that got me over 90%, so thanks for that! I will attach the game, which can be a little buggy at times, because it uses SCAR, because Simba didn't have forms, I didn't realise that there was a thing in SRL that made it work (damn).
The Next year of SRL and the rest of my "life"
Well, I would love to continue to develop Reflection, and hopefully become a reflection developer. What exactly else will develop will remain to be seen, however I wish to continue to be active and develop reflection and SRL in general.
My life will either consist of :
Job, earn some cash to go to university the following year, or
University, and put the fees onto Hex, god I love the Australian government, even if all politions are evil :/
Either way Uni is going to happen, at which I plan on studying Information Technology or Computer Science and get a job programming games, which I think will be an interesting career path.
