I just switched over from Firefox, and it's incredible. I've been comparing the speeds between the two browsers, and here's some of my data, for those of you who are inclined:
(I used CCleaner to clear all the firefox history, etc, so both the browsers have the same amount to load)

Just grease monkey, but it was disabled at the time.
I haven't tested the betas, are they sick?
Yeah, Im going to look into this RS thing, it's just leaving me with blank screen.I think it's a Java issue. woe unto me

You shouldn't need to do all that.. just look for a browser plugin.

Firefox 4 is faster for me than Chromium, and their JS engines are at the same speed. (

Also, what startup speeds are you comparing? I guess once again it is Firefox 3.6 against latest chrome.
Personally I don't care about startup times, I have my browser open all day and Firefox is faster in general usage. And I personally very much dislike the look and usability of chromium. Especially how everything goes via google. I don't want google to know
whatever I look up. Do you realise they have everything stored you have ever searched for? Every page with google ads you visisted? That they change ads to match the searches you do?

I disagree, my chrome is faster in general usage.
But you're right, im at 3.6/
Either way, I like the way chrome looks. It's much less "busy" then firefox

If all you want is looks, then then the FF beta looks pretty much like chrome, and I too dislike the idea of everything being stored by google.

I've been using Chrome for around 6 months now. Going back to FireFox just seems like I have a snail for a processor, and going to Internet Explorer practically crashes my PC lol.
I don't like that Google stores everything either, but I love the quality of Google products. For instance, anyone here used Google Earth recently? You can now view and roam a 3D model of the earth with pretty accurate elevation depictions.

I used Google Chrome when it first came out, but I still find I use both FF and Chrome in equivalent amounts.
Chrome might be faster & cleaner (and currently HTML 5 compliant), but Firefox has way more useful, dependable extensions. Ad-block plus, flashblock (ads really peeve me off, esp. flash ones) and videodownloader are just a snippet of convenient add-ons that the FF community maintains.
Chrome if I'm in a hurry, but FF for a more relaxed, but extensive web-browsing session. Either way, both kick IE's ass for the moment and useful to have in case one or the other ever stuffs up (which is unlikely, but possible).

FF is HTML5 supporting by the way.. I think all the major browsers are now (except IE < 9).
Mozilla played a part in the development of HTML5, if I recall correctly.

I used GC for a while, maybe 3 weeks, and then at that point I started using FF and GC in approximately equal amounts. GC was nice since it had a process for each tab so a single tab crashing wouldn't crash the whole browser. I enjoyed FF more, however, because of the availability of plugins; I, for one, love my grease monkey and ad-block (yes, i know, ad-block is available on GC), and I think the 25 pixels of claimed height at the top of my browser is worth it for easily available bookmarks. I would also like to complain that there's no bar for GC… it doesn't feel like Windows when I use chrome.

I'd have to agree a lot with this..
also if his startup times for anything are over 3 seconds he should get a better computer before trying to get better performance out of software
and so far ff beta is much quicker with loading than any of the chromes
don't forget.. google also logs and saves your mac address

at least from my experience, when I have crashes in Chrome, it crashes the whole browser, not a single tab.

I thought FF implemented the whole don't crash the browser if one tab or plugin crashes since version 3.x.

for plugins. Chrome has process per tabs, which in my experience hasnt worked, and imo doesn't help, and makes the browser use more RAM.

When I did my tests I was amazed at 30 processes running on chrome with 25 tabs up
