SRL Archive - General Botting Help

In this tutorial you will learn how to fix some common Visual errors that occur when Autoing.

Note: for those not using SMART. You can get to Safemode by holding the S key when RS is loading. Which is the mode most script work in. If your already using Smart then it's done for you automatically.

1. Step #1 Open Runescape in a Internet Browser(Firefox, Chrome, Safari)

2. Step #2 Click the Settings Icon in the top right Corner. The middle one with the Wrench.

3. Step #3 Select MIN for Manual Setup, Select Fixed for Screen Sizing, and Make sure that Animated background is turned off.

4. Step #4 Click Custom under manual setup and ensure your settings are set like the following picture.
NOTE: You can set the CPU usage however you like. Maximum for best script usage. Minimum to effect your computer usage less.

If these did not solve your problem please ensure you are:

• Using the latest version of Smart. Check the Smart Forum for any Errors.
• Using the latest Revision of SRL. You can also check the SRL FAQ.
• Check to see if the Script is outdated or not.

That's Software mode, not Safe mode.. :P

I personally set CPU usage to "maximum". And ^.
Other than that, looks nice.

There is no safe mode anymore. It's something that SRL and Smart are working on getting back into usage.

Yes there is. It's invoked by holding S whilst the client is loading. SMART will do this automatically by default. Load SMART 6.3 and see what it's set at. :)

Hince what I said after that. It's not something we have the user's setup anymore. That's what I meant.

Well.. The user can set it by holding S while rs loads, so it kinda is an user setting :)
Noobs will ask/are asking "Do I HAVE to use SMART?", so if you add to this tutorial that you can get Safe mode by holding S, then we can refer to this thread

SetupSRL has SmartSetupex which in the new version sends 's'. Because of this addition to SMART users don't have to worry about setting safemode. If you need to look the here is the thread Benland said it at.

I know this. That's why I added "Noobs will ask/are asking "Do I HAVE to use SMART?", so if you add to this tutorial that you can get Safe mode by holding S, then we can refer to this thread" when I wrote the post you quoted.

Really? i always run on minimum and i get 30 hour proggies all the time. I want to know the big difference now. Im on a 4quad core so i may change this setting.

Quadcore Says enough. I still haven't maxed my Quad core yet. It could be put on minimum and still be getting the Max results. It's more or less for those with older computers.

I don't like the idea of srl sticking with safe mode… I think we should move to software mode :)

I also agree with this, but there are people out there that don't like making the change. Even though a good few script work in software mode+ already even with color. I believe I left my stuff set high once or twice while using YoHoJo's PMS that I modded a little and it worked fine. I didn't even notice until I switched to a different script. The note was added for just in case purposes anyway. It'd probably be more relevant posted in the smart or SRL thread. So please stay on topic :p

You should reply on the correct thread of the script you are using this will get you an answer. Reply in random places on the forum will only irritated the members of this forums an make it less likely for you to receive help. If you need an answer quickly then try getting on IRC.

For some reason even though I fixed the screen to fixed multipul times WHILE I leave RS open or close it, every time I run the script it it still saying I have not set it to fixed, can anyone help?

What script are you using? Are you using Smart?

Without Smart, you have to define the client by dragging the green crosshair to the RS client

Haha thank you, and like any problem I have ever had ever, restarting comp fixed it, thanks for your concern though :D

I can't switch to software mode, it keeps saying "runescape cannot switch to this mode, please visit our website for support".

Software mode works in firefox though. Already tried a restart too.

You have to use Safe Mode.

Hey , Im facing a slight problem. I set everything like that on smart, even downloaded 6.9 smart manually. But when i try to start MSI i get this

The following bitmaps were not freed: [SRL - Mod bitmap, SRL - Admin bitmap, SRL - Flag bitmap]

Thats the last text i get from running the script. I have identified the client .


PS: Script doesnt start.

I tried it again with some mods, withdraw this much from the bank etc etc then that didn't worked, so I changed it to initial and that still didn't work. I re- added the script and still nothing!

Nice guide Coh3n has done a video guide on Youtube, for anyone who wants to know how to set up srl and such in the Simba client. Do this guide beforehand however.

You need to use a more stable script. also, make sure you are following the requirements of that script correctly.

Now you can't take "software option"

Hello, when I run the bot for al kharid miner or karamja stiles noter (I haven't tried any others) it logs me in fine but then teleports me to lumbridge and logs me out. The report afterwards says:
Active: False
Reason: Failed to setup player

It never walks anywhere, or does anything, even when I move my character to the mine or the bank before running the program.
Help?

Would that happen to be MSI? Please refer to scripts by name. We have a lot also It might be outdated in that it can't detect where you are located.

Runescape is getting rid of Safe mode (in most cases). How will this affect botting? Will the scripts themselves have to change?
