What do you guys think of this album?
Personally I think that this is one of Kanye's best albums since College Dropout. We have to remember that this was an individual who was consistently plagued by controversy where ever he was, partly due to his rash and careless actions.
But bearing that in mind:
1. “Dark Fantasy” - Nice introduction to the album, nice flow going there too. Good play of words in that song also, I like this one quite a bit. The production sounds well constructed. 9/10
2. “Gorgeous” feat. Kid Cudi and Raekwon - Deep guitar strings, quite laid back. Kid CuDi is on the hook, so they can't go badly wrong there :).
3. “POWER” feat. Dwele - Catchy and amazing. 10/10
4. “All of the Lights” - Amazing 11 artist collaboration!!! A hit that shouldn't be ignored! (Kanye on the drum patterns, listen to drums in the background, he must have super fingers). 10/10
5. “Monster” feat. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, and Bon Iver - Didn't feel it when I first heard it, but got addicted to it after 4-5 plays. Jay Z's verse is okay, people say Nikki Minaj killed it - but I don't really see why? 9/10
6. “So Appalled” feat. Jay-Z, Pusha T, CyHi the Prynce, Swizz Beatz, and RZA - "I'm so appalled.. Donald Trump taking dollars from y'all!", more glimpses of the old Kanye. 9/10
7. “Devil in a New Dress” - Lovely sampling there by b!nk, very nice track. I like the interlude. 9/10
8. “Runaway” feat. Pusha T - A self-confessing song (although I didn't really feel it) 8/10.
9. “Hell of a Life” - 8/10
10. “Blame Game” feat. John Legend and Pusha T - Another quality track. 9/10
11. “Lost in the World” - The last track of the album, meant to superimpose kanye lost in a world he doesn't understand. I loved this one. 10/10
12. “See Me Now” - The bonus track, this should have been on the album!! I love this one, straight rapping by ye. 10/10
I must complement the production on this album, mostly overseen by Kanye himself (a master of production), it is of great quality and some of the beats are dope. A great album overall (shown by the reviews I suppose!!)
These are just my opinions and I would love to hear your thoughts!!
