For the first time , I tried to compile simba.

I installed Lazarus (sp?) and FPC and Git.

First I downloaded simba by using https://git.villavu.com/?p=simba.git;a=summary

then I opened up Simba/Projects/Simba/Simba.lpr with lazarus and tried to run by pressing the green arrow and I get this error

simbaunit.pas(2078,10) Error: Identifier not found "OpenURL"
simbaunit.pas(2525,15) Error: Identifier not found "OpenDocument"
simbaunit.pas(2530,15) Error: Identifier not found "OpenDocument"
simbaunit.pas(2535,15) Error: Identifier not found "OpenDocument"
simbaunit.pas(2540,10) Error: Identifier not found "OpenURL"

If this helps , here is something to show what I am using.

Wait… can you even use simba on ubuntu?

If so is there like a tutorial on how to set it up and everything, and is it even worth doing it?

I'm running dual-boot windows and ubuntu, and the only reason I honestly use windows is to bot…

It works fine in Wine, but not really natively.

You need at least lazarus 0.9.29, so you can't install the one from the repos. I ran into those exact errors myself on Kubuntu.

[QUOTE=Camaro';752425]Thanks for the response, I'll tell you how it go's when I can get a chance to update to 9.29.

Install FPC from the Ubuntu repos. (Will be 2.4.0)
Then checkout the lazarus source.

sudo apt-get install fpc
svn co http://svn.freepascal.org/svn/lazarus/trunk lazarus
cd lazarus
make all
./lazarus
