Breaking my iPod Touch

Okay, so im thinking of breaking my iPod Touch
The reason: so i get nice new hardware just before the warranty runs out.
so any suggestions on how i should break it?
Remember it should be in a way where the people at the genius bar cannot fix it easily by simply doing a restore, and it should be a way where they will still accept it and replace it.
so yeah, fire away

Hmm… not sure if this will still be safe under your warranty, but:
Juice is a surefire way to kill anything electronic. Claim to have a little brother/cousin, who nabbed it and spilled their juice cup all over it by mistake. It'll get everything really sticky and gross, and if it's in the jucie for long enough, it'll fry the electronics
It happened to my laptop, for reallz

just go to the store and tell them it heats up in your pocket and burns your leg. i've done it loads of time with many of my i devices.

mine is jailbroken with greenpois0n
i used limera1n first but it caused major battery drainage
then i used greenpois0n and its all good now, but anyway, this isnt a thread about jailbreaking my ipod, its about actually breaking my ipod

EDIT: btw if your ipod is a MB model then you can jailbreak untethered with redsn0w right now ;)
if it is a MC model then you can jailbreak with redsn0w, but it will be tethered

whatever you do, make sure you absolutely know that it will be covered, or else you'll just have a useless piece of junk. Telling them it has a problem of heat probably will work because that is harder to test really, so they'll probably not check.

Don't they replace your warranty products with refurbished ones? A lot of places do this, so you may be getting something just as used as yours was.

not at the one in norwich, they usually just take one off the shelf and give it to you :p

I was going to say you could just short a capacitor or something but then remembered Apple is gay and you'd have troubles opening up your iPod.
Record it being microwaved and post it on your youtube account. Broken iPod and probably a fair amount of views.

a bit late at replay, but i'm already jailbroken with ultrasn0w, untethered MC model :D.
Shove a something like soldering wire into all of the ports, and try to break as much stuff inside as you can.

4.1?
because it cant be 4.2.1 otherwise it would be teathered
im swaying towards a battery/heat problem
im thinking of taking it in while its switched off and go up to them and saying that after being on for about 45 mins it gets really hot and suddenly looses all its power

^ Make sure to drain the battery if you're going to do that, otherwise they'll just turn it on again and give you a weird look.

Just had a Google around for you, and one of the suggestions is to take a magnet and run it along the screen. Apparently screws around with the hard-drive and screen. Get the most powerful magnet you can get your hands on, so perhaps a speaker magnet since some of them can be pretty beasty?

well i have some neo-dynium magnets which i bought to try and make a mag-safe from instructables, but it turned out they were too strong, they crush my finger if i get it between them
think i need anything stronger :p
~shut
EDIT: not sure i will go with a magnet though, and ipod touches dont have hard-drives :p
Oh ok haha. I was just relaying what I saw on some website.
