Well im thinking of making a army because when i try to script, apart from my bad skills i have none to test it on :p but also because i think it would be a help to everyone me helping out the scirpter's by talking about bugs/having accounts in randoms.
So my main questions are
1. How many?
2. What to start on
3. Any advice

Thanks

Heh. I'd suggest starting with an army of 8. Not too many, not too few, and just enough to have them running around the clock ;)

Getting their combat up first is a good idea. It'll make you less noticeable and it'll mean that you can go to certain areas more safely.

Now's a good time to choose if you want to have PKers in your army, or not.
Plan out their stats ;)

I would usually just look at my stats and consider what path I could make my char follow.

Fish -> Cook -> Fight
Mine -> Smith -> Craft

Sort of thing. This way your army can 'live for free', as it's always supplying for itself ;)

I'd suggest looking for scripts that earn you a profit + xp.
These will make sure you don't run out of money and that you are gaining levels.

If you want money to invest in something, I'd suggest running gatherers or money makers.

Wetting clay used to be very good money,
and smelting used to earn 100k / h, which is good xp + money

Killing chickens and gathering their feathers is a very common way to start up an army.

good luck :-)

As many as you so please. There's currently an army by Squancy of 98, I think, give or take. But even an army of four can help. In some regards it's best to have a few than many, but in others, many trumps few. So it's up to you if you wanna spend time on it, but I'd say 10-15 is pretty good if you want a decent sized army.

Anything you want. :) See a script you wanna try out? Go for it. It all helps. And you can switch scripts all the time.

Just make sure you set up everything correctly, leave your computer on 24/7, and your computer can handle it. It's kinda like a farm, really. You start out by planting the seeds and then after that there's not much you can do besides water (which will be done by the scripts) and wait. Make sure you check to make sure accounts that are inactive become active again with SMS.. There's a guide about that by YoHoJo.

Personally I run closer to RM. I keep it with 4-5 although I don't run around the clock. I have them switch around players and somewhere around midnight they turn off, my computer checks for updates and shuts down. Next day turns on around 4-5 am lather rinse repeat +- a few hours.

I have an army of 8, if I could leave my computer on overnight (cant cause it's a POS and will overheat), I'd have my army running 24/7.

I auto my way from lvl 3 combat, and stay there until 76 fishing or 60 mining. If they survive that, then I train combat and blend them in.
