I'm just curious as to what kind of music everyone here listens to.

Personally, I like to think I listen to a little of everything, from Folk and Classic Rock, to hiphop/electro? stuff like Kid CuDi and Chiddy Bang, to a little jazz now and then.

Also, say so if you play an instrument. I play electric bass :)

I like any music that isn't: Religious/Country/Screamo.

I love the bands Megadeth, Metallica, Boston, Kansas, ect…

I play the electric guitar.

Favorite Metallica song: Fade To Black.
Favorite Megadeth song: Sweating Bullets.

From time to time I enjoy funky music such as: Beck - Sexx Laws(my current ringtone) AND Madonna - Beautiful Stranger.

Funk is where it's at :)
Im in a funk band

I will say Im not a huge metal fan, so I don't listen to megadeath and metallica, but I have a couple of Boston and Kansas songs that I love :)

Listen to "Liquid Tension Experiment" It's a really cool superband!
I also like listening to "Blue Stahli" and "Clutch".

At one point I wanted to make a Cars cover band… but no one felt it like I did.
Boston is the shiz. TBH almost my entire itunes is made up of Guitar Hero and Rock Band songs(Almost every game). After about 6 months of playing GH a bit I had enough and needed a real guitar. I got one and everything has been great since then.

Haha, seriously?
Look up some of these bands, branch out a little, you might like them. Or maybe not, but it's good to explore more stuff musically.

If you're in to Jazz at all, check out the Album "Bitches Brew" by miles davis. It's pretty strange, but its the best selling jazz album of all time.

Also, move into 70's rock, like the Eagles, and the Doors.

The cars are fun, but you need gooood vocalists.

Atm I'm listening to Kamelot, Poetry for the Poisoned is just genius (and it's got beautiful artwork, especially the lp).

I listen to the Eagles and the Doors all the time. I also enjoy some Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Also, Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man = Incredible.

@Markus: Haven't heard of them, so this suggestion might be terrible for you in terms of genre, but for some other lyrical genius: State Radio

It'll show what I am currently listening to - yes. But you can also see my entire library of ``listened'' music. I thought that would give a better view of my taste. :p

Marvin Gaye - What's Going On

Love makin music right thurr.

Next up = BTM FDR - The Acacia Strain <3

MOTOWN. my all time favorite genre. (Yeah, I know it's not technically a genre, so fine, my all time favorite record label.)

Kid cudi, immortal tech, eminen, guns n roses, Kanye west, nas. Underground: lowkey, akala, dot, sway, btr…. Any person with real talent.

Really into kanye atm, his album (which is out tomorrow) is siik. I like kanye's old stuff too (through the wire).

Sometimes I like to listen to some Bob Marley and the wailers, blink 182. I'll listen to anything really, but I'm more a rap/hip hop guy

I play the electric guitar.

Favorite Metallica song: Fade To Black.

That is a fun intro to play. The 3 string sweep arpeggio was a pain to get down though, even with sweeping experience. IMO start solo > end solo to play… of course I'm derailing now ;)

I'm listening to Summoning right now.
+1 rep to anyone who listens to Summoning, let alone BM.

www.hard.fm :)

Drum 'n' bass, dubstep, and some urban.

EDIT: And I can't stop listening to: http://www.youtube.com/user/HobbieStuartMusic
