So, This is my thousandth post… I've been looking forward to this for a while. There's a good bit i wanna talk about, so I guess I'll just start with my history of this site.
In January/February of '09, I was browsing the net trying to find a bot to smith some steel bars for me. I found a site with a collection of very old and out dated SCAR scripts. Someone in the comments on one of those scripts linked to sythe.org, which they claimed had newer and better scripts. I went to sythe, but I didn't find any newer and better scripts. Someone did tell me about SRL-Forums, though. So I joined, and leeched what I could and had nice and interesting conversations with people on the site until i got my JM status. At that point, I just started leeching scripts. Eventually, though, I decided that from the taste of the community I had gotten in that first week, I wanted to come back.
I became active in the community aspect of SRL, posting in threads, talking people, and making new freinds. Eventually, I even started "theory crafting" (as in I came up with ideas, but I didn't/couldn't implment them) ideas for methods in scripts.
There was a thread in which everyone was supposed to put "Creepypasta". I made a mistake and decided to post a picture of a cat being burned to death… you could probably find it if you really want to, but I won't give you the "name" of the picture. I was suspended for a month :(
I came back though, with a new, better attitude. I began to want to learn to script. I began reading tutorials in tutorial island. I grasped the coding concepts pretty easily, but I couldn't figure out how to work with it in runescape. I decided to make a Bandit Killer, which didn't come out that well TBH. I also made a firemaker, which actually almost worked. I applied for SRL Members, and got a pretty low vote ratio :p. A bit after that, I kind of just dropped off the site for a while.
Around February of this year I came back for a month or so. TBH, I didn't really get anything done in that time period. I just dropped off the face of SRL again. But then, in august of this year, I came back. I've met new people, learned to script (although i'm a pretty crap color scripter - I just use reflection nowadays), made around 650 posts, gotten my first cup (Helper bear!!!), and best of all, been a part of one of the greatest communities i know of.
Now I'll tell you a bit about myself. My name is Thomas Michael Kaufman. I'm 5'6" (still growing lol). I have blond hair and blue eyes. I've had braces since mid 7th grade. I run track & field - to be specific, I do long and triple jump. I'm 15 (my birthday was just a few weeks ago). I go to Woodbridge High School in Irvine, California, United States of America. I live with my Father (His name is also Thomas Kaufman - we share the same name :p), step-mother (Her and my dad have been together for around 8 years, married for around 3.5), my half-brother-on-my-dad's-side (he's 3 :)), and my step-mom's sister. I personally don't like her very much, she's been living with us for far too long…
I've been with my girlfreind for 7 months now. She's the first girlfreind I've ever had. She's 16, so she's a junior and i'm a sophomore. It's kind of stupid that everyone makes fun of us for it. She still can't drive, which I think is kind of stupid, but at the same time it's slightly embarassing to have your girl driving you around everywhere :p
That's me :p hair's a still bit wet from my shower this morning, it's not as dark when it's completely dry
