Better

Do you think, in general, it's possible to be "better"? Could things or actions be better?

Do you think its possible to make mistakes?

Better for one (person/thing/org/etc) might not be better for another. So being a relative term, point of view comes into play. On a cosmic level, everything will eventually be dust, so nothing is really better or worse. On a more practical level, a given thing or action could be closer or further from a given goal or desired result than another thing or action, so yes.

Please elaborate

But on a personal, general level there is the idea of how you would prefer something to be somehow different, for example with a phone, it would be "better" if it had a 12 MP camera, not 6. If you then get a 12 MP camera-phone…it would be "better" if it had a higher resolution screen, and so on. There's always going to be more goals to attain to.

I like threads like these, should be more of them.

.. although you somewhat answered your own question there, from my point of view. Since everything that matters in this world is materialistic, (forgive the pun) it would indeed be better if the quality/ect. was in any way improved.

Surely someone might mix in feelings and likewise, to which I say that feelings are simply chemical reactions in your brain, which also would be better if, say, consisted of (somehow) better chemichals, had the ability to be better balanced, et cetera.

I'm not sure if I answered to your intended question, as this was mostly based on your latest post – but do indeed elaborate; tell us what you were thinking when you made this thread?

Was just thinking about life I guess. Everything seems to be about bigger, better, faster, in this world. To the point where your whole life becomes just about getting the next "better" thing, like a new car or a job promotion etc. But that "better" thing could always be better again…making it a feedback loop.

Can you make mistakes - If you could never have gotten anything truly better or been anything better, and never can be anything better - as in, can only be your best and cant be better than your best - then mistakes or wrongdoings or anything like that are just a result of wishing for a nonexistant "better". Pretty much kills the idea of morals, of a set way to be, of guilt, "what ifs"…probably more stuff but it seems to be a weight off the chest…while being opposite to what we're taught our whole lives.

I also like threads like these, but in the general public forums there would be a lot of other opinions but from younger people, more ignorant people, and so on and would probably go off-topic pretty easily.

Things cannot become "Better" without having first been tested and have had mistakes made. Mistakes lead to the discovery of a "Better" way of doing/improving something.

Yea, "learn from your mistakes". So be better than what was worse. Foresight would prevent the mistakes…but unexpected things can happen, even with the best of foresight, that are unpredictable, meaning its always possible to make mistakes. Which would seem to mean Good/Bad and Better/Worse don't mean much, as they would just be concepts. Maybe lol.

Everything/everyone can always become better than they currently are. The best phone in the world could be made better by adding an extra pixel to the screen, or a better camera etc.

I will give you a cookie if you can find something/someone that/who cannot be improved.

But everything that ever was/is/is going to be, is God. So nothing could be better, so everything could be better. And the concept of "better" arises within the God. Loop inside a loop inside a loop inside…

How can you better something that is not defined or non existant?

By defining it or proving it exists?
