Ebay Help

I've never used ebay before, but I want to buy a product on there.

Are there any tips or things I should know?

Are there any legit 'auto bidders' or anything of that sort that are safe and work well?

I kept bidding on an item and INSTANTLY some other guy outbit me, so I'm guessing there are.

Also, just a question, couldn't someone put something up for sale, and then log into another account of their own and make bids on, thus making other people pay more for it?!

Thanks!

Edit:
Also I've linked my paypal and ebay accounts, so that means it will automatically be paid for if I win?
The seller also says in the description that
"User expected to pay via Paypal within 7 days of the end of the auction. If payment is not received in said timeframe, a non-paying bidder claim will be filed immediately"

Does that just mean that I need to have enough money in my paypal account within 7 days after I win the bid? Or do I need the proper amount of money in my account before I actually bid?

Well, to answer your auto bid question…

You can enter something into Ebay called your "Max Bid"
The way it works is that ebay will automatically continue bidding for you, if someone outbids you, up to that price. It's part of Ebay, so it's safe :)

use auction sniper http://www.auctionsniper.com/
your first successful snipes are completely free :D (i have used all my free ones :()

as for your last question, yes, but then someone might not bid and they would have to pay seller fees even though they didnt really sell the item

Ohhh! I understand how the Max Bid works now, that makes sense! Thank you.
@Shuttleu, How would autosnipe be better than Max Bid (since it already bids for me). Is it just faster/bids at VERY LAST SECOND?

Yeah, the sniper prevents it from working the price up really high.

If you let the other people bidding think that they've won, the price doesnt keep going up. Sniping it at the last second lets you get it for cheaper.

But if its a not too popular item, just go with Max Bid and save your free snipes for late purchases :)
