That's REALLY cool, was it done from scratch or did you use some render and custom brushes?

No renders, no brushes except the default photoshop circle brush. I try to do everything from scratch. I say try because I often recycle shapes/images I have created in older works.

Over 800 layers and 842mb file size.

And how long time do you spend on these images?

It is hard to keep track. I normally work on them a couple hours a night over a few weeks. Generally about 20+ hours goes into most things I make.

Sidenote: What you see is roughly a 20% zoom of the image. I sell these as prints so I never upload the full size images :p

Stunning! That is unbelievable work! Any chance us SRL guys could see this in higher res for wallpaper purposes?

Click "Download Image", you will get a 1400×2100 size image. You can rotate 90 degrees it and use it on just about any monitor.

It is 1400x2100 in the site. The full size is 7200x10800. (I don't upload the full resolution images because I sell these as large scale prints.)

Edit: Here is a detail screenshot so you can see how big it actually is. (Look at the navigator and see how small of an area it is zoomed on)

Do you mind sharing how much you actually make from selling these?

I just want too see what kind people pay for this work.

The amount "artists" make from selling a print is purely dependent on luck and their name. I (a nobody) can get about $250 to $300 for a 24"x36" (which is a HUGE size for graphic prints). I just do it for some spare spending cash and the knowledge that someone wants my "art" on their wall. It usually costs me about $100 to print something this size on styrene board. I usually either sell to friends/acquaintances or have a table setup at local "art shows".

Now say if I had a known name in the art community prints this size could get over $1,000. My former painting/graphic design teacher in high school is actually a relatively famous painter and only taught for enjoyment.

His similarly size paintings (obviously much more difficult to create), would sell for up to $10,000 a piece and Hungary paid him $40,000 to fly overseas and create a painting about their country.

Now all that being said, I hope I can pull the "favorite student ever" card and have him help me build a slightly larger name so I can get some decent money.

oh wow, yea we have local "Art walks" its where the whole city on on street, come together can display thier art.

Ive seen the prices ranging from 100-2,000 but i never thought they would go for 10,000! or 40,000!!!

Good Luck on your goal!! I hope for the best! You have amazing work :D

Incredible work Brown… I suppose you work with this kind of stuff.

Perhaps you should try to do other shapes and stuff ? :)

I have four monitors arranged horizontally :p

How hard is it to buy/sell prints like this online (Logistics-wise)?

I have never sold anything large online before. I suppose it would be relatively easy as I would be able to change the shipping address when I order it from the printing company.

Also, check your inbox for a nice 4 monitor gift ;)
