An Aim for MSI: The Extreme Bot

Have you guys ever seen RID's advert? It's freaking amazing.

They talk about it as if it were something from a different world.

I've always thought of MSI as something that could take scripts further.

Further than cut, bank, cut.

MSI really has the possibility of becoming the ultimate script, ultimately human, and even better than that, flawless.

A flawless, human-like, RS player.

And this is possible if we develop features.
And make those features 'global'.

If each feature we create is used throughout every script, then every script we make has an extra feature!

First thing that comes to mind, is a world switcher.

Something quite obvious, a bit annoying and not extremely worth it.

But writing one world switcher that will be used in 20 scripts…

Result = Effort * usability * scripts

The big strength in MSI is the * scripts. Whatever we make, will be used many more times than we would use it ourselves.

I made a world switcher once. But i couldn't be fucked to include it in each script. Nor re-write it when the need came, cus I didn't use it anyway!

Right now we already cover the main skills, with a few more things under way.

It's time we make this little baby shine! ^.^

YES!
But I think we should get more skills going first

We've been trying that for a long time, time to change focus ;)

That's correct…………. HHHhmmm
Should we ''recruit'' more SLs?

World switcher? We already use SRL's. Right now it switches worlds when switching players. What other features did you have in mind?

There's an autoresponder I guess, but you know how I feel about those. :p

A proper world switcher ;)

Check how many players there are at location x, if players > y then change world, keep track of how many players were in each world, that sort of thing ;)

Not something that just does it randomly, something that does it smartly! :-)

I also love debugging onto the screen, i love to be able to see how the script is going by just looking at one place.

Yeah… i know how you feel about auto-responders :p

Zytex, I don't think we need to recruit more SLs. I think MSI has reached the point where people are willing to work their way into SLship.

There's also another post i'll want to make…

A post about MSI being expandable, but not necessarily expanded :)

As for more features, just check out the unique things of each script ;)

I still plan to add the 'Press f* to type' feature RM used in his guild miner if you guys think it should be. I just haven't gotten around to it really, but it's a pretty simple addition.

Shuttleu and I found that using the F key didn't work as well as we hoped. I may have suggested this before, but we should make it an extension. :)

I've been working on the extensions lately to get all of them added under one MSI menu. I like the idea of the typing as an extension rather than a "Press F12" kind of thing.

@RM: I'm assuming you're talking about the number of players in the autoing area, not the world as a whole, correct?

I highly doubt extensions can interact with SMART.

Maybe not directly, but it the text was saved to a file then it could be read by the script.

That seems like a very interesting way to go about this.

Coh3n, what do you think about the Markov chain AI way of doing autorespondering?

Are you asking my opinion, or if that's how I think it should be done?

It would have to be very well written and have very good AI for me to use it, but that's just me. I'm sure a lot of people are different.

I'm not sure how you would go about writing it with the Markov rule, but it does seem like it would be a good idea.

That looks pretty cool to me. By the sounds of things, if that was ever finished it would be added to SRL anyway.

Smart world switcher > multi-skill training?

I think the main idea of MSI is the possibility to make it mine iron for 2 hours, then cut wood for 3 hours, and then go back to mining iron for 2 hours etc

We already can do that, sort of, and there's other scripts to take care of those needs…

Right now, what makes MSI stand out? The fact that we've got 20 something scripts that run well.

But the scripts just run well. There is nothing 'special' about them, if you see what I mean?

I'll write a new thread now, have a look at it
