Stat Resets

I've been looking over the forums at rsbots.net, and they seem to think that it's some sort of bug caused by the interaction with their client and the runescape server.

If this is indeed a bug, do you think we could figure out how to recreate it? Would be pretty awesome if we could reset stats on our own.

Any ideas?

If they can go down, can they go up?

Also Jagex probably will ban anyone who they catch having drastic stat modification.
While some people say it's due to the bytecode injection (and I cant say it is or isnt, no one knows yet), someone on this forum said by using I think MSI… I forget TBH… either way: They got reset without bytecode injection.

PowerBot.org visitors and posters seem to hint at it being rather Jagex testing out an anti-macro system.

You can't fool the server into thinking your stats are different than they actually are by modifying the client.

I agree with the anti-macro idea, though.

I know some java, but not too much – is it more or less impossible for anyone to hack the server data without some serious manipulation/breaching of Jagex systems?
Or is there any possible way that client modification could possibly cause some packets or something to be sent back a bit messed up and the server can't handle it?

I know the chances of the above being impossible are pretty high, I'm just trying to rule out every possibility or see if there is even the slightest possibility of it happening; if it is possible that'd be really really bad for Jagex.
But as you said, I personally believe that it's them testing anti-macro measures.

The server is the ultimate authority on what can or cannot be done in the game. If it doesn't like the input you send it, it won't do whatever action you requested and probably will flag your account. It was possible back in the day to fool the server into thinking some actions were real when they weren't, but I'm sure Jagex has reworked their server since then to make it validate just about every possible input before performing some action.

Jagex is resetting stats on purpose to prevent banning account and losing money and account names. Its not a bug.
