So a few years back (3) i got an HP xw4300 workstation so I could play battlefeild 2 on the same server with my dad. over the years i've been adding parts to it, starting with the GPU then RAM. Now, the only things still stock are the PSU and the case! So, just thought I'd post some specs, because I'm excited about my new motherboard/CPU :spot:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 (Dual core, 1066 FSB, 2.90 GHz clock speed, 3 MB Cache)
GPU: ATI AMD XFX HD 5750 (1 GB GDDR5 VRam)
RAM: 4.00 GB DDR2 RAM, 333.7 MHz
Motherboard: Asus P5N-D
1 300 GB internal SeaGate HDD (7200 RPM) + 1 320 GB externale HDD (7200 RPM) (Replace these with 2 internal 500 GB SATA drives from my dad's work tomorrow)

The main thing I'm excited about is my new processor - to give you a comparison, my old windows experience index score for my processor was 4.3, and now it's 6.5. Installing applications is amazingly fast now :)

I need to get a new case fan, because the old case fan i had used a 4 pin connector and the only 4 connector pin on my motherboard is being used by my CPU's heatsink, so i put on this old monster of a fan that my dad has from the late 90s… it's a constant, speeed, which happens to be very loud and obnoxious. I'm getting a new one soon, though :)

Not a bad computer! Add a SSD, you'll be amazed!

That's next on the list :p I'm probably gonna either save 80 bucks to get a 32 GB SSD to juse use to install windows on and other apps and put files on a seperate hard drive

I have a 32gb SSD at home and a 64gb at work.

If I had to do it again, I'd buy even bigger. You get hooked on all of your apps starting up near-instantaneously. Imagine: VS2010 starting up in under 2 seconds, office applications starting instantly, etc. It blows my mind to imagine what it must do to video games!

So it would be worth it to wait till i had more money to get a larger drive? how much is, say, a 180 GB? Is it worth it?

32GB are pretty cheap as it is, you could always buy one and upgrade later.

64GB are priced very competitively against 32GB drives. If you wait for a sale on newegg, you'll get an even better deal.

Give money to your parents. If you aren't buying from newegg you might as well be sending your extra money to me.

Not necessarily .

E7500 on newegg

I got my E7500 from microcenter for $80, same exact thing.

Ignoring sales. I wouldn't tell someone to wait for an undetermined amount of time and get lucky to pick up a part.
