Expelled from School. Again.

… Life is unfair. I hate life.
So here's my story. The past year and a half I've been bullied by my old friend. He was my best friend until he started hanging around some other people (real assholes …) and started bullying me.
I've tried to ignore it, I've been to see the school leadership and things, but nothing happens. They kept saying "We'll deal with this, it's not normal…"
Yet… Nothing happens, he's still here, preventing me from doing my work and stuff.
Today, in class, he started annoying me again, with his new fuckhead friends laughing behind him. I tell him to stop and he calls me "victime", in french it means something along the lines of "poor kid keeps getting hit".
I start getting angry, at him and tell him to stop firmly. He said something like "what's the "victime" gonna do ?" (qu'est-ce qu'elle va me faire la victime la ?).
I finished my essay which is due tomorrow. I go to the toilet and come back just to see him rip my essay apart. This is when it happened, in a rush, I went up and hit him in the face, next I get a punch in the nose. My eyes watered up and I could barely see anything. I get pushed to the floor and thats when, half blind, I take out my knife (little multi tool thingy) and lift it in the air, thats when I feel something hit it, or I hit something.
Something did hit it, my friend's hand who tried to strike me again. Cryptic silence. I dry my tears out from the punch in the nose to see blood pouring from the asshole's hand.
The teacher comes into the room seeing me with a knife in the hand and my friend on the floor crying like a pussy for his hand.
I was taken to the school director and had a 5 minute talk for me to try to explain what happened and why I did it.
I tried to give the background of it "he kept bullying me with his new friends…etc" but he kept going like "Is that worth stabbing someone ?". Of course, I was wrong from the start in his eyes.
I didn't even want to hurt anyone and I'm afraid I just… ruined my life…
I'm still shaking from the shock… What should I do?

Sue the school. If they keep records of the bullying reports then your lawyer could make a fair case it was their fault, they failed to prevent the bullying, and that you never meant to stab anyone just that you were scared of getting beaten senseless by the gang. People here have done the same and won lots of money…not sure if there were any accidental stabbings though. Just an idea…better than being kicked out of the school system for good

I am unsure about France, but there are many laws in the US about bullying in school. If you were seriously being harassed by that guy, you will probably not get a major criminal record, and will (probably) have a good case against the school for refusing to give you aid when you were being harassed.
Best of luck.

I think pulling the knife was a terrible idea…in a school no less. I would have just gotten the snot kicked outta me and had them face the consequences of it. But of course, you started the physical confrontation as well…before any of that woulda happened I would have just taken my essay to the teacher and said "here ya go, douchebag over there ripped it up for you when I was in the bathroom".
tough luck, hope it works out somewhat.

Your life won't be ruined mate, don't worry
If I were you, I would fight the school, and make sure that this whole incident doesnt go on your record. Then, transfer to another school right away. The school can only do so much to prevent these people from bullying you more, even if you win your case. They'll go after you even more now that you've hurt one of them
Get yourself out of the situation
Nature will set things right, trust me. If you do not deserve it you will always get what you really deserve. Just stay calm, that is the key to get through hard times.

I think carrying a knife is never a good idea in school. Guess this proves the extent of bullying these days…
Have you actually admitted to anything yet? Could easily lie that the knife came from one of them, and you disarmed, but accidently stabbed him.
Parents could be incredibly useful in this situation, if they're as understanding as stated, they can discuss it with the school, explain how you're not actually a threat to that school. Or they could get you into another school etc.

A weapon in school, even if it was legal to have if you were on the streets(A small knife), is never a great idea. The best bet here is to resolve this so it doesn't go on your record, and then switch schools. You'll be the kid that went crazy and pulled a knife if you don't.

Main_ftw makes a good point about staying calm. If you get freaked out and nervous, it'll only make the whole situation worse. Have a nice cup of tea and go to bed early tonight.
You havent ruined your life
if the teachers see that guy as a trouble maker
then your fine
a friend of mine really did get pissed off and did bring a knife in to stab someone
the other guy was a dick and cocky
he deserved everything he got
even if he didnt get stabbed or anything
it still put him in his place
currently the guy who brought the knife in has gone through collage and is in university
the kid who was cocky got kicked out of school and was living with some friends far as i know he's moving into a child home that was the last i heard from him
the person who brought the knife in, in my opinion was always the better person. i dont encourage knifes but in this case it did the trick?
the situation isnt totally the same but it's close enough just stated your mind to the teachers and things will get noticed and you'll see changes you havent ruined your life
and if your perents understand you they'll be mad for a while but everything will be back to normal
everything will sort itself out =]

This.
Why were you expelled before? It's something to think about if you (stupidly) try to sue the school.
If you sue anyone (I wouldn't suggest it), sue the kid's parents or the kid or the teacher or your counselors, not the school. Kids need a place to have school; if you take away the building, it will just mess so much up for so many kids that have nothing to do with this stuff.
But I'm busy for now.

You're right, but I wasn't necessarily talking about a super being, I just think it's really silly to assume that by nature everything will be just fine. :)
If one would open his eyes and look around, one will see that actually the opposite is true. I'd also suggest a trip to Africa; then visit China. After that, tell me that just staying calm will make assure everything will turn out just fine. Obviously being calm is a good advise, but it's not (arguably) always the best thing to do.

I feel for you Dervish. In my school its either you tough up or just get robbed. You did what any other person who has had enough would do. I think he deserved more then that punch, i think he deserved to fight you and just get his life beaten out of him. However the knife was a bit overdoing it, everyone is used to fists, its not as scary as a weapon. The second that knife comes out, people don't know how to defend them selves against it (at least brawlers / street fighters and what not) so its no wonder why he started screaming like a pussy lol.
All in all, I would just say be done with it. Don't sue or anything like that, just move on… you did not do so bad xD. You stood up for yourself and basically said "I don't like the way you treat me, i don't deserve this." and smashed him. I would have done the same if I were you ^^ (exclude the knife lol). So as Main said, take a cup of tea and call it a day. Tomorrow wake up knowing you stood up for yourself and payed the consequence for the knife. <3

My school allowed knives under 3" (I believe), although it was severely frowned upon. I carried one all through high school, with the clip exposed on my pants. No teachers or officers ever gave me crap about it, and I figured if anyone did I was a good enough student they'd let it slip by. But I would have never brought it out if I was getting beat up…Not even if I was losing terribly.

Even though pulling it out in a fight was stupid, what's done is done. Yeah, dervish acted rashly, but it happens to everyone. So let's try and support the guy instead of telling him what he's done wrong

Dervish. Again, this is just saddening to me. I am in the general same thought as other here. I agree that if you really did report to administrative persons the trouble you were being put through and that nothing had been done, you have a case to continue going to school.
As with Brain, the school I went to allowed knives up to 3'' blades. If you had done anything with that to harm or threaten someone, you would be in trouble and never allowed the privilege again. Personally, I kept tons of the sort of thing on me and in my backpack. If any teacher had confiscated my pants and backpack, I am sure I could have been expelled. Mind, I worked on things all day long and had a use for the: soldering iron, knife, x-acto blade, toothbrush, screw drivers, glass cutter, wire, and such.
No, it was not the best idea for you to even pull out the tool of yours. Anyone worth their beans could call you on 'intent' as you had physically attacked a student and were very much emotionally distressed over their actions. This is not to say that I think you were wrong in prettying up his face with your hand, because I think you had a right to protect yourself (as I also thought you had more than every right to protect your sister).
Well, I wish you the best in clearing this all up. Hopefully you don't have to transfer to a different school (unless that ends up being the best thing). Keep it together, hang in there, staying calm and clear headed usually helps too. =]

Its pretty obvious that one of the friends pushed him to the ground while he was fighting, he was put into a position where someone would get jumped. Ofcourse he would take out something to protect himself, its a natural thing to do. Have you even been jumped before? you know how it is. You get pushed onto the ground from behind or the side, you lay on the ground, and your head and body get stomped on or punched from 2 (or usually much more) people, even hit with a weapon/rocks in some cases. By all means, taking a knife to school was very dangerous, but its not unnatural that he wielded it at that point. He did not swing it (which is very surprising, its a very sane thing to do to not actually swing it), he simply took it out to show the severity of what was about to happen to him.

Dervish your situation really does suck. I have never been a bully or been bullied on but I know your situation is a common one.
Even though schools say they want to prevent bullying, they do absolute shit at standing up to it. The pussies who bully play it off like it never happens and still do it, really fucking annoying. Some people are just so damn blind about bullying happening in their schools they are ignorant to it when it slaps them in the face like this.
Who do they blame? The blame the kid who fucking got pushed over the edge b/c it's been going on too long. They are fucking lucky it was just a knife…

The knife, yes was a bit uncalled for period. Shouldn't have a knife with you at all during school hours. Perhaps the kid that went crazy and pulled a knife had a reason to do so ? Nobody does anything about bullying, you have friends, when things start to heat up, they leave you there, in the shit. Parents ? They go to the school. The school ? Doesn't do anything, talking usually never solves anything.
Well I was switched schools, without it going on my record. There has been a crapload of legal stuff about them not acting when I've been complaining about bulling, and apparently, we have a solid case.

I would take the interview, but be VERY careful about what you say. You need to spin it in your favor. You'll find in life that people will let everything slide until the moms in the community hear that some poor little boy (using these terms for effect, no offense :P) was bullied so much, IN A CLASS ROOM, that he felt he needed to pull out his small dull knife for security. And that the kids beating on him didn't bother to notice it and punched the knife. Then the kid that was being beaten was removed from school.
Public opinion is pretty much the only driving force for politicians, well, that and money. (your school supervisor is a politician).
