Script Maker

Anyone remember those super-old mouse-moving bots where you would press record, mine a load or two, and then it would just repeat those actions with your mouse? I think if you could do that with SRL, it would be very epic…run a script that will analyse where you click, the actions that occur, and interpret them in SRL terms (eg a click on a gametab would be recorded by the running script as a gametab(whatever) click), have keys to press to indicate where you want loops, and then have the script spew out a fully formed SRL script of the action you just performed with standard randomness.

Thoughts?

Cool idea, has come up a couple times. Let's see if it materializes ;)

Yup couldnt remember who thought of it though. :p
I think with reflection it would be do-able..for example, to figure out what each click meant, all you would need to do is about half a second after each click, search the screen to see what things changed - if the character is doing an animation on an object, or if it has moved/is moving to a tile, then just put it all together.

Maybe a tool that outputs the info needed to plug into MSI to add something new?

I think it was Special Ed who thought of that idea, his one did Radial Walking, waiting and clicking.
Cool idea

Why make a script that records actions and repeats them, when you can create universal actions that can be called upon on request to fufill tasks, makes me sense to me :)

The script is a script to make a script. :)
So you don't have to actually make any more scripts, just run this. MSI could come in handy I think

Quite; better to have a universal include like ``CutWood('Draynor', 'oak'); (MSI anyone) than recording clicks. It'd be only good for walking or perhaps fletching (not too good for this too) because most of the time, your scripts need to be smart and adept to it's environment. You can't do this with pre-programmed clicks.
