It looks like you ran the makefile, which you can't do. You must simply type 'make' and then your make program will use the makefile to compile smart. I use GNU Make, I don't know what options there are for windows.

Maybe reading that description, or posting it here, would help. :)

Syntax for SMART makefile:\n For Windows distributions: make windows\n For Linux distributions: make linux\n For new (broken) SCAR distributions: make scar\n For All distributions: make everything\n To clean build files: make clean
This is what i get after i do Cd to repositary directory and do Make.
So whats wrong why wont it compile the source ?

So you don't have that program, 'i586-mingw32msvc-g++', get it or another compiler for windows and change the name in the make file.

it might just be called g++ if you're in windows, regardless you need to change the name in the makefile to whatever it is for your system

You shouldn't need cygwin to compile this in windows, as long as you can find a make that runs without it.

But i did read somewhere it was nesesary to compile makefile, while on some modern linux distributions it was inbuildt.
But what else than cygwin can you use then for windows ?

Question: Why are you compiling it in the first place when there is already a pre-compiled binary version available?

Because its basic c++ knowledge.
I can compile a c++ source but its just this makefile witch make me confused.

You should really get more comfortable with the GNU build tools. Drop all the IDE's. This thread is going no where until you start reading and searching with google.
