SRL Archive - MSI Suggestions

PlayerFile

I have been thinking about this moreso lately: The possibility of having player info saved to a file. That file could be later opened up so the script 'knows' what it has already learned about the player it is currently running.

I feel that this would open a whole new realm of possibilities.

Edit: Things listed in the 'perfect bot' become more of a possibility.

Edit: Things that are possible:
- last known location
- friends
- profession
- attitude
- last known levels
- hours played
- levels gained
- age of bot
- mouse movement style (i luffs yeww)
- waiting style (i luffs yeww)
- bf/gf (Sir R. Magician) ;)

Huh. I might expand on this.

I'm working on a personalization type thing for SRL, but I'll suggest it to MSI as well, in case it doesn't get added to SRL. ;) This could all go along with it.

I have some good ideas.

Pretty sure IceFire did this with a couple of his scripts actually.

I all for adding it to MSI though.

Profession and attitude? Are there such things in RS?

Is the idea of this so it remembers the information from multiple script runs? That's really the only scenario I can see this being useful, but even then it would only to be the stats. I'm not sure how reading the file during runtime would benefit since everything is already stored in global variables.

I like the idea of adding to the file though. A new heading of an INI file could be made for every new player that is being used.

@ i luffs yeww ~ what sort of ideas??

@ NCDS ~ do you know which scripts?

@ Coh3n ~ Sure there are: pures, level'd fighters, merchants, miners, crafters, all 99'ers…. as for attitudes, I have been working on the idea of having an auto responder for different attitudes (grumpy, hyper, to the point, friendly….)

The idea behind this is to be able to keep track of whatever else there may bee that needs to have been keeping track of for different scripts. More of a script and go system. As some of you might be aware, I try to make a setup that auto-autos. I see the file idea as a step in the direction of multi script usage.

How many times does one have to restart their computer, browser, simba/scar ?? The script would be able to 'pick up' from wherever it left off with a specific player by searching for a file and reading the appropriate data from it.

So it would continue on the progress report from where it left off? In that case I would also like to keep track of how many restarts it had (i.e. how many times Simba had to be restarted), that way it isn't deceiving.

Each person will have a randomly generated key which will be saved to a file and will then be used for randomness and wait times and mouse curves and break times, etc., while being different from everyone else, but being constant to each person, just like humans. We're all pretty constant, and our mouse movements and waits and everything go with that. What my system would do is make that human aspect for each person.

There's more to it, but that pretty much sums it up, I think.

^ Good call on that one.

^ That sounds like a real fantastic idea!! I like the 'human-like' aspect of it. Good thinking. [E] added to my top list.

GE Arson I believe. Check the POMS scripts as well.

I also did this in my Edgeville fisher. Although Icefire probably did it more efficiently.

I think this could be an MSI Extra. :) Since not all people would want all reports adding together (I would want to see how individual runs did), having it an Extra would give the users a choice.

Does anyone still think this would be useful?

I honestly don't think it would be. It's a cool concept and would be a neat addition, but it's not something that's really necessary. If someone wishes to continue and make an extra, they can, but for now I'm marking this as denied.
