Hey guys, I know I usually make a post with some ideas when I make one of these threads, but this time I'm out of ideas.

What should we do with the Scripting School of Simba & SRL ?

It could pretty much follow any path it wants. As long as knowledge passes in any form, it is serving it's purpose.

Any ideas?

If you mean the IRC channel I'd say leave it as it is, but maybe advertise it a bit more

Why not just write tutorials? Then the people wanting to learn don't have to make the effort to go to IRC at a specific time and place.

Because there already are tutorials and not everyone learns through them, or still wants to ask questions and blablabla.

And because some people like to teach. And some people like to be taught.

And as there's nothing wrong with that, for those who would rather do this than write tuts this gives them an opportunity.

I think Brak has it under control. You can't force people to learn, you can only give them the opportunity, right? Can lead a horse to water but cant make it drink.

I'm About maxed out. Got everything in working order. I just need a few people to put up some time to teach whatever they feel comfortable to teach. The IRC Channel Has 4-6 People floating around in it to answer questions. So that's mostly covered. Any other Ideas you all could have would be greatly beneficial. Trying to make a trivia bot at the moment on top of the other stuff I have going on. Hopefully with various topics/levels to help Hone peoples knowledge.

I'd say if someone can demonstrate via video and explain step by step what is happening and why things are happening the way they are (things are easier to learn if they make sense logically), and of course stopping for questions and helping everyone as much as you can.

Kind of like an online course or something.
Maybe like an online tutor session every now and then so that whenever someone has a question or needs an idea they can ask someone directly right away.

Hey Dark_Sniper and yea the asking questions thing is probably the best part about it. We can help clear up confusion they have in some areas. We can also get a feel for how well they have picked it up by asking some questions. This tells us what we need to go into.

Really looking forward to Daniels class on forms tomorrow morning. It the area I currently working the most in and I have a ton of question that there happen to not be a current tutorial on. Got asked why I didn't just use the form editor in SCAR 3.25b over doing the coding myself, my answer was what's that going to teach me?

well teach them the hard way, but also make sure to show them the more practical way of doing things.

Make things as easy as you can for others and you will attract many more people.

Just don't go doing the work for them, make them learn it. Don't just give them the answer.

I remember someone made a video tutorial back in the day, that would probably work even better these days (what with faster internet and more bandwidth over the last 2-3 years). Advantage being the person can hear whats going on and see it at the same time
