Stiles Fisher

THIS SCRIPT IS STILL IN ITS BETA STAGE

therefore, expect and report bugs.

I'm quite proud of this script. I eventually want to add tuna/swordfish + tuna dropping (optional, of course) support, but that's not a big priority unless it's requested, since I plan on fishing only lobsters with this script. DONE!

Setup
• fill in declare players
• start on docks
• you must have exchanged notes before with stiles - the script will not go through the initiation dialog

Features
• Exchanges fish (currently, the script only has lobster support) for notes from stiles
• near - flawless TPA Spot finding
• Reflection Walking
• Reflection fishing detection
• Multiplayer
• SMART (NOT OPTIONAL.)
• Tracks EXP Gained
• Neat progress report

To-Do
• Breaking/Sleeping
• Track levels gained
• perfect fishing methods
• SRL Stats? (probably not :P) Thanks BraK!
• Swordfish/tuna support
• Equipment Checks?
• EXP/hr?

From: Change Log

Version 0.80 BETA: Initial release, no swordfish support
Version 0.90 BETA: Added Swordfish/Tuna Support + Tuna Dropping
Version 0.93 BETA: Added SRL Stats support
Version 0.931 BETA: Removed all AntiBan procedures that examined things; they caused the player to stop fishing. When/if i make the script detect if it's fishing or not via reflection, i can reinstate these.
Version 0.98 BETA: Plenty of stuff, the most notable being some new reflection finding/backups.
Revision 1: Lots of stuff, mainly reflection backups work, changed some of the script flow, and i'm now going by Revisions rather than Versions.

again, this script is still in its beta stage - only by testing it and reporting bugs can this script be brought into a full, release stage - so expect bugs and post proggies

try enabling security.sex in simba.

also, i've had this on my harddrive fora while, either version .97 or .98 beta (can't remember lol) has been added to the original post, it has some reflection stuff that needs testing!

XD Have fun at the bonfire.

At first it had so me troubles finding the fishing spot (just a little bit slow. Not a problem at all) But after about 5-7 seconds it got back on track.

For some reason on the initial progress report it spits out when you start the script it says this for how long it worked.

[ Worked: 21h 54m 43s ]

I had just started the script =P

that's a problem with SRL initiating player variables. it should fix itself on the next proggie.

Ah okay =]. Wasn't sure if it was the script or SRL.

Edit: After a load it spat out this:
Debug: MMousing to coords fo TPA
Debug: bad uptext. running reflection backup.

Instead of hovering over stiles and exchanging it kept on hovering over the fishing barrels. The end result was the script walking my player back and forth between the dock and stiles.

I'll try to fix the uptext.

this means 3 things. Bad uptext on stiles, bad colors in the TPA to find stiles, and the ref backup doesn't work =\ i can fix all this later tonight hopefully.

@TomTuff the code looks good. I just finished my form for SIMBA Pharmaceutics if you want I could make you one for this. It will help me work out my multiplayer bit as my script isn't really supposed to be multiplayer. Also if you need an example of how to do the Xp per hour I have it working in my Script.

i really should update this with reflection… also, exp per hour shouldn't be too difficult to figure out, but if i need help i'll look in your script.

About the form, no thanks. I don't really like forms (dP for the WIN!!!) and if I did want one for my script, I'd do it myself so i could know how for the future.
Thanks for the offer though :)

Nice job Tom. I know there were a few requests for this script. ;)

I guess this would be the best way to collect the higher level fish in F2P. Question - do you use any reflection for your exchanging with Stiles?

FFlag(0);
Wait(RandomRange(800,1200));
Result := ChooseOption('xch');
Wait(RandomRange(800,1200));
end;

He uses color with a reflection failsafe. ;)

The way SRL was meant to be run! hahaha

I'm getting my army's mining up to 30 so i can afford fishing bait/feathers, so i can get their fishing levels up, and move them to karamja to test this thing out on a grand scale. (I'm using MSI to get the mining/fishing levels, working great ;))

Good to hear. :)

The reason I ask is because there was a request for this in MSI, and I was wondering if your code could be used, but I didn't realize all you had to do was Right Click > Exchange. :p I thought maybe there was a conversation to go through or something like that.

The first time you talk to stiles you have to go thorugh a mini conversation. After that, it's just right click -> exchange.

i really havent used this as i said i would, but i really need too. Currently i do have an army in progress… but i need to get there fishing lvls to 40… -_- unless you added net support

if you add net it would work perfectly.

Currently running a Turtorial runner, and its made 8 characters so far. Will leave on for the rest of the night :)

hmmm so many DTMs to make though =P and also you can only note Tuna, Lobster, and Swordfish with Stiles so it would have to drop all netted fish :(

if you make the DTMs for all the nettable fish you can get at musa point, i'll add it in… but atm i'm busy working on a Daggonoth killer which has been giving me some trouble :p

@ TomTuff: Sometimes it doesn't drop all the tuna if the inventory is full. Instead it starts dropping some tuna and then it goes and fishes until the inventory is full again.

EDIT: It also has trouble finding Stiles every now and then.

Other than that the script works very well.

can you post what it says in the debug box when it's looking for stiles?

it does this because i put the vars in the wrong place… i dont have time to upload a patch atm, but for now you can just delete as i beleive i set something up in SRL stats wrong. I'm probably going to remove it in rev 3 after i get more feedback since we're moving away from nielsie95's stats system soon and it's just a waste of 400 lines.

KingKong

From: TomTuff

For some strange reason the debug box doesn't display anything when this happens. But I think the problem occurs when the compass is not set to north and the angle is not set to the highest.(Also, just to let you know that I didn't have a problem with finding Stiles for like 4-5 trips while the drop tuna option was set to false. Maybe it was just by luck that it found Stiles. Im not sure.)

Some more feedback:

* Replace Exit at line 668 to WalkToStiles, so that upon loggin on, if the inventor is full, it will go to stiles and get the fish noted rather than just stopping there itself.

* Increase the amount of time the script waits for the character to start fishing.(It logged me out because my character didn't reach the spot fast enough to start fishing.)

* Reason why it doesn't drop all tuna: The script doesn't wait long enough for the tuna to disappear from the inventory and as a result it clicks 'Drop Tuna' twice. The problem was that it clicks 'Drop Tuna' option [count + 1] times. So for an inventory of 5 tuna it will click 'Drop Tuna' twice on the first 3 tuna(for total clicks of [5 + 1]), which leaves 2 tuna in the inventory. It will drop all tuna when the number of tuna in the inventory is <= 2. To fix this maybe you could add a repeat/while loop in the 'procedure DropTuna'.

* When the 'You inventory is too full' message comes up, it starts to fish at another spot and then start dropping the tuna, instead of dropping the tuna first and then trying to fish at another spot.

From: TomTuff
Is anyone using this? a progress report would be nice.
Or is it so amazing it's still running? ;)

* This occurs because you haven't used the variables Players.Integers[10 to 14] in you 'procedure Prog' anywhere else in the script, and so the script prints their default values of 0.

I think i forgot a couple more, ill tell you when i remember them, for now have fun fixing the above.

There is some problem with stats procedure :

[Error] (31:3): Unknown identifier 'Stats_UserID' at line 30
Compiling failed.

Commenting it out fixes the issue.

KingKong

2010-11-29 19:13:22

@TomTuff: are you still working on the fisher? If you're not, I might be able to spend some time fixing some problems.

TomTuff

2010-11-29 21:22:12

No, not really. I have bigger real life issues, and when i do sit down to work on a script it's to rewrite my giant spider killer, which seems to have more demand (from others and from myself). Feel free to post a patch. TBH all that needs to be done for compiling errors is to take out anything that has to do with SRL Stats.

KingKong

2010-12-14 00:32:15

I have a question: why didn't you use R_CountItemID to count the amount of fishes in the inventory instead of using dtm's?

EDIT: Forget I asked that, i looked at your script again and saw you used them as backups.

usuck123

2010-12-20 13:06:53

so i just started using this script and it seem to work well up to the point where it takes me to stiles. it then hits the barrel of fish instead of stiles then logs me out. is anyone else having this problem or have a quick fix?

KingKong

2010-12-20 17:33:20

It has trouble fishing finding stiles for everybody, the script is not being maintained by Tomtuff atm, try finding another fisher until I get a patch for it.
