Not cross platform? You could maybe try using an extension to communicate with growl? I don't imagine simba incorporating something that isn't cross platform.

Well.. Simba really isn't that cross-platform as is already. And CRov (I think that's the name) by niels is in Simba (extension I think) and it's not cross-platform.

Extensions being the keyword.. Don't get me wrong, I see nothing wrong with extending Simba, but something that isn't crossplatform(one of simba's aims) should be in the 'main code'.

Well then there wouldn't be any problem making an extension for it, right? :)

What about C2DM to android phones? That would be more useful and cross platform ;)

Also, CRov is being converted to be cross platform using the Simba functions rather than the API calls which nielsie uses.

I know, N2, but as of now it's not cross platform. Not that that's a problem or anything, as it'll be changed soon. I only brought it up because I'm saying this would probably have no problem being added if it were an extension.
And moparisthebest, there could be a simple radio button/toggle/whatever to switch between iOS and Android.
And eventually a WP7 notification system will be made and could be added. :)

Well Growl seems very proprietary and iLife only, so I see no reason to add this to mainline Simba. You could make an extension for it or so, but I'm not sure how you'd use it to community with your script. Except for files.

Congrats on the clever pun in the thread title though! :p

Is there some server daemon you could run for it? Raw socket connections should be in Simba soon, so if there is some daemon you could run, then you could connect to it like that.
